I'm not assuming anything. You all have made yourselves quite clear. Freedom applies to you and those that think like you only.

it amazes and confounds me that someone who posts in the manner in which you do calling everyone with an opinion which varies from yours idiots could actually write the above and not comprehend the irony

oh well, life is full of the ironic

same old boring labels...
You think they clash badly with the ignorance of the insinuations you make and your mocking of people?

yup, and when they make it a stat and all of the malls are closed the two of you will still be wrong on whether or not the stores will be closed or open....there are already days when the malls are closed...I get that the two of you are freedom fighters for the mall owners....that's nice but the malls still are closed on certain days and Remembrance Day will be added to the list

one more read, and it's a go
Good grief you're one seriously messed up woman.

Yes it should be a holiday and for a good reason while we remember those who served
and those who were wounded or died there is something much bigger here as well.
There is a lasting legacy we must remember and in mourning the loss we should also
be celebrating the lives of those lost.
For example I am named after my fathers best friend Fred Tromburg he was killed on
the beach at Dieppe Raid. I would be willing to be there are countless thousands of people
who were named after friends of our parents from that era.
Remembrance Day is about remembering and celebrating lives of those who served.
Yes it should be a holiday

I get that the Christian holidays aren't important to many but it certainly is hard to staff various times of the year

at some point, all this shopping needs a limit and Veteran's Day would be a good start and make the fines over the top for opening and it should all flow to Veteran's fund

I never had a problem with working on holidays, even xmas or new years. Hell Id volunteer for it. More money.

I doubt they'd be able to pass a law forcing businesses to actually close on a holiday. It sounds like a good idea in theory but telling businesses when they can or cant be open sounds like an over reach. If people want to shop on any given day and there is a business willing to sell stuff to them on that day they should be able to.

Gotta love the free thinking of people who know what freedom is.

they already do, there are holidays which close even in malls...they are fined for opening...Christmas is one such day, if you are deemed to be located in a tourist area other laws apply

if you think back even a few years, Box Day used to be closed too...now it is "allowed"

it's not a debate...it's just law

There is no law that prohibits anyone from opening at any time when it comes to retail, (liquor laws withstanding), so try again. Your idea is turning back the clock to the old Sunday shopping laws.

What law are you talking about?

Are those laws still on any books?

They certainly aren't in Ontario.
