no it`s not that, it`s just that a young man is dead so regardless he succeeded

But we have to keep that success in perspective. I also don`t want to hear about how we dropped the ball security wise...we didn`t, in fact, we were hugely successful due to Kevin Vickers cool bravery, and all those men and women who ran toward the fallen soldier performing CPR and not moving in spite of gun fire and others who ran toward the gun man seeking him out, hunting him.

We won, and we can not protect ourselves against every mad man or act of violence...we are a violent animal although we are evolving, not everyone evolves at the same speed and in fact some devolve...we can`t allow that to change who we are or what we stand for or what we value as individuals or as a nation. If we do, these Islamists win completely.

right after this, I wanted us to gun down the 80 on the list...today I am rational again, we have to be careful to assess before responding

I don`t want people running around with guns on their hips...

I don't give a rat's ar$e about the useless and counter-productive Liberal Charter. It is no protection of rights, as the Whatcott decision proved.

However, I absolutely agree that there is NO need for additional anti-terror legislation. Our reaction to this is simply wrong. We should declare war on ISIS, let loose JTF2 to take part in operations against them, allow our soldiers to proudly and defiantly wear the uniform, LET Jihadis leave and cancel their passports when they are out, and charge Canadian supporters of ISIS with treason. There is no need to truncate our shrinking liberty any more.

well we will never know what his personal goal was, my guess is that his brain was so clouded and fogged by drugs, and mental illness and confusion that other than making others hurt he likely had no clear goal that even ISIS would understand. Who knows if he even had contact with anyone else radicalized or not. Perhaps they used him for their purposes, perhaps he was just conveniently messed and thus thought that was his best way to have some notoriety.

none the less, another young man is dead as well as him and it has given us pause to assess ourselves and our nation in various ways...

Nope. It is Ontario and Quebec that divide the country. Notice how few Liberal seats there are in the west/ We are unified.

The refreshing thing about all this is that so far there hasn't been some ignorant numpty shrieking that Vickers should have shot Zoot-Whatever in the leg.
