That is likely to happen, sooner or later, no matter what the US does or doesn't do. Lives would/will be lost but that would/will also cause them to visit Allah quicker.

Hussein attempted to have the hostages rescued from ISIS within the last couple of months. The rescue mission failed due to poor intelligence. Hussein failed just like Jimmy Carter failed at Desert One with his Iranian hostages rescue attempt in April of 1980.

How many failed attempts were made by Bush to capture Bin Laden and how many Americans ended up dead in the process?
Zero as there never was an attempt to bring in that asset. As to how many Anerican died start with all the deaths on 9/11 and go from there. If that doesn't make American a step a head of the 'Brits' I don't know what would.
