Juice is better then pop. Fruit is better then juice. Fresh fruit is better then canned fruit. Then there's the whole concept of eating only what's in season and what is regional...

My thoughts exactly. Canned fruit is laced with sugar! Sugar is the #1 killer in the diet.

It's hard to know really what to believe these days. I'm pretty sure the hospital dietician told me it's better to skip the juice and eat an apple, orange or a few grapes etc. Yet what do they serve in the hospital? Juice at every meal.
yes, skip the juice and eat the fruit when possible sounds like good advice

if you want to get massive amounts of antioxidants...drink the fresh juice

I haven't bought juice for years likely decades actually

I don't juice any more but if you can be bothered it tastes entirely different than any thing purchased, well except juice bar stuff from gourmet places

All my life I have felt like I didn't belong here, that I was born in the wrong historical time frame. Nothing about our so called civilization makes any sense to to me, no religion, not politics nor commerce. I never could figure out why the human species was so hell bent on destroying its life support system or slaughtering their own kind or any number of other species that have done us no harm.

This image came to me when I first saw the photo of that woman's face. Her expression begged to be put into this image. It is how I felt most of my life. I am only now coming to terms with why I chose to be here now.

There is no way I would want to live in a time without indoor plumbing and soft toilet paper..............

Sure sign of a pampered childhood!
not necessarily strangely enough...I was discussing this topic with Mr. Sal today and he said precisely what tay said...he was raised with an outhouse...thus he never wants to be that poor again

being raised in that type of poverty puts a huge strain on the immune system and the body in general...poor nutrition, working one's guts out from an early age...little to no childhood, high expectations placed on the children or the family starves...literally

canadian winters and outhouses do not mix and match well either;-)

I was raised likewise, until about age 7- thought is was completely normal until we got indoor plumbing installed. In those days outhouses didn't exactly equate with being poor in rural areas.

Big city folk! I was raised with indoor plumbing. I chose to walk away from it 45 years ago. An outhouse is not a sign of poverty but like anything else it has its advantages and disadvantages. There was a book that came out that basically said, flush toilets were designed to make people constipated and dull minded, because squatting is the natural way to relieve your bowels. I lived in town for almost a decade and had flush toilets. Two years ago, I moved out of town and the first thing I did was build an outhouse. I feel much better now that I did.

I've always felt that I have lived in the past. In my dreams I've appeared in Spain, the Middle East, and in some tropical land in either the Caribbean or Florida. As harsh as life can be today, however, it was likely far worse in the old days when surgery was unknown as people died well before they reached the age of 40. Will humankind ever achieve a new Golden Age? Not likely. So take what you've got and hope for the best.

We have people here who stand ON the toilet and squat down. In some other places they have holes in the floor...no seat.

I think for me, the novelty of living in the past might where off since the roughest I've ever had it was...never.

I do love camping and packpacking though and outhousing it or bushing it has never been an obstacle for me. I don't Glamp, I camp. Luxury is if there is a picnic bench...
