"This election — tipped as a tight two-way race between Kathleen Wynne's Liberals and the Progressive Conservative Party led by Tim Hudak — was triggered when NDP Leader Andrea Horwath refused to support the minority Liberals' budget. The snap election will cost the province about $90 million."

The price of democracy it is not true one party owes the province because they
withdrew support. The NDP picked up two seats and the Tories who were in
fact chirping about being an alternative were huge losers. The NDP did the
right thing they put the Tories in the spotlight and they were not up to the challenge.
Conservative policy defeated them. Cutting jobs in the civil service is not popular
and Hudac paid for it

I seem to recall the CONS saying how disgusting it was for the NDP to keep propping up the LIBS.

Maybe the Hudak CONS should have to pay the 90 mill since they were the ones who wanted an election......

Elections are never a waste of money. They should happen more frequently.

Elections dates should be random and not released to the gov until it is 2 weeks away.

so the ******* government that is about to pass bad policy will never know if they are about to cost themselves an election.

If you are in opposition you always want the election. The NDP did choose a strange time to withdraw support since they propped up the corruption many times.

But just mark it against the billions and billions already lost by the corrupt Lieberals. It is just a drop in the bucket.

Election dates are generally determined by the governing party! -:)

Horwath could have taken the easy way and supported the budget, been the hero for it, then brought down the House on something else later. She'd probably have won a majority government for it too....

Andrea Horvath owes no one anything. She did the right thing, she just did it way too late.

The people have spoken, let the taxation, debt accumulation and economic destruction of Ontario get underway.
