Do you find it similar as well? All that effort for what? At least a Joho can handle being told to get lost.
Sorry, not following you. Can you clarify for me, please.

I've stated my position concerning the content of the Bible a number of times in this thread, Goober.

In regards to the parallel.

Clearly I am sitting here with no connected brain. I am so out of focus I can't begin to pretend I know what you mean.
It's been a 1 cup of coffee day for me.
The parallel of an atheist going out of their to spread their beliefs like JWs going out of their way to spread their beliefs. To me it's the same.
Then post it again.
Gerry, I can see I can no longer hide from your astute mind. I feel it is time to confess. Not many years ago I would often ride my unicycle down Main while the boom box played Disco Inferno - Burn, Baby, Burn... After the first few weeks, I was convinced my evangelism efforts were beginning to take root. Certainly, my method of unilateral condemnation warmed the hearts of my hearers. Until one excursion proved to suggest that God was none to pleased with my evangelistic prowess. As I rode by and threw bagels to those with an interested look in their eye, I neglected to notice a stone on the pavement. It was not a large rock by any means, yet it threw me off balance. The unicycle began skidding on an angle down hill. I was fast approaching the bridge and was unable to right the wheel. I careened toward the edge of the bridge, hit the guard rail and over I went with boom box, bagels and mega phone. I thanked God for the heavy spring rains as the river was beyond flood stage. As I floated downstream I began to think about that little stone. It was a really just a speck. Here are the questions again. Answer them. They aren't that difficult and they aren't that deep.

Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? 4*How can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? 5*You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.
And the moral of the story is?
Can't argue with you on that, Goober.Your attempt to paraphrase the teachings and parables of Jesus really suck.
I've met rapid/militant JW's, Catholics, Born agains, Muslims, and Athiests. I've also met wonderful people from each of these groups too.
Humans are human.

Me too. I listen to what JWs have to say and I read their literature which BTW is very well written and I'm not offended. If they came to my door and told me my beliefs were outright hogwash and called me a fool for believing it, they'd find themselves airborn after getting shoved off the front deck.
If you don't believe in something you don't really have anything to say so why go out of your way to say your nothing?
JWs do not knock on our door. I politely asked if they would bypass us (put us on a no-knock list) and they do.
opinion is just that, opinion. It's your opinion that they have nothing to say. Clearly they feel they do.
IF I am asked why I think/believe something I will answer to the best of my ability. I would be intolerant of that person taking it upon themselves to belittle me for it or attempt to make me feel stupid for it. This action shows me that they aren't really interested in another point of view and therefore their views/opinions are small, narrow and pointed. Certainly, holds no value to me. Be they Christian, Athiest, Agnostic, or a space alien.

And that is what makes you a good person not some disrespectful a-hole.
Imagine that. Being polite. Most people are not. JW's are not treated the same as other observers of Christ. (don't quite know how to word that)
We had some young men come to our door recently who said they were missionaries. Took me by surprise. I'm in Canada and it's 2014. Didn't know missionaries even existed any more. Turns out they were Mormons. I was as polite as they were. See no reason to be rude to those who aren't being rude first.

For what Jesus reportedly said and did, it IS the only source we have. And no, I don't consider it a viable source, any more than I do your personal revelations, I consider the former to be mythology and the latter to be hallucinations, but to point out that it's the only source we have is not to defend it, it's merely to state the obvious. I don't believe you're curious either, that's not why you asked. No, it's not the only source we have. Plus, you don't even consider it a viable source. You are no more impressed with it than with my personal revelations. So, I'm curious, why does it appear you are defending it here?
