I've seen that guy's "six questions to ask an atheist" bit. The man's an idiot, can't think clearly and logically and isn't worth taking seriously. Quoting him at me will just make me laugh, he has no idea what he's talking about, he just has a facility with language that enables him to sound like he does. I agree with Dex. Zach's argument is idiotic. A non-belief in something because of lack of evidence does not require infinite knowledge. It only requires logic.
The Baha'i religion is inclusive. All the holy books of all the major religions are read in their temples because they believe they are all divinely inspired.
The truth is only relevant to the beholder based on their beliefs and life experiences. Example: many people believe the bible is the word of god whereas most people on the planet do not. Because you believe something to be true does not necessarily make it true for anybody else.

Love is the only common denominator in the Universe because the Universe is Love (not the sentimental mushy stuff humans call love, but the creative energy that permeates everything and animates it all. There is no justice or evil and forgiveness is a selfish act to relieve ones self of the burden of pain and anguish. It is not a truth.
Try to wrap your logic around that puppy. LOL. If it were a puppy, that wouls be some pretty trippy heady f'd up sh! t. Lol.
Maybe its not that there was nothing there before the big bang, but what was there is not understood by us yet. Sort of like how we don't fully know what dark matter is or how qubits can become entangled.

My first negative rating since joining these discussions, Gerry. You might be surprised to learn that I've never given one to anyone.
It's not ad hominem if it's true and relevant to the arguments he offers. Perhaps I should have said his arguments are idiotic rather than calling him an idiot, but really, his own arguments condemn him as a woolly, ignorant, and shallow thinker.

Now this biblical event did not occur 10-20 billion years ago, but it shares some similarities to the big bang including heat (from a fire) and a small volume of matter (gold jewelry).

That's a terrible, and very out of date, description of it. The time has been pinned down to 13.7 billion years ago, plus or minus about 200,000 years, and it wasn't a small volume of matter, matter came later after things had expanded and cooled a bit.
