Well put. Another layer of ignorance is bliss. Too fully know how evil some people are could ruin someone. I can't and don't want to imagine.

Seriel killers...m6 brain can not even begin to fathom the depths of evil

Fathoming the depths of evil allows us to contemplate the heights of good. Know what I mean , the one drives the other. It is very hard to imagine and dwell on the revolting depravities practiced in our world, we can go so far and ours minds recoil but among us are those who revel in the pit and delight in the misery of the other but they fear and loath the good they know to exit.

No. Any demon, if they have the characteristics usually ascribed to them, would have been smart enough to foresee that opening the eastern front was a loser. Plain old psychosis is much the more parsimonious explanation.

How do you know the demon wanted to win the war? The demon was just looking to cause as much evil and hurt and pain as necessary.

The Hitller being possessed post is hilarious.

Well I don't think it's funny. His possession caused the deaths of millions of people.

And, as I said, he wasn't the only high up Nazi possessed by a demon. It is well known that the Nazis dabbled in the occult.

In my carefully considered and not very humble opinion, there are no demons. Neither are there any angels, deities, incubi, succubi, golems, zombies, walking dead, or anything of the sort. There are no supernatural beings of any kind, from gods to tooth fairies to monsters under the bed. They're all products of the imagination and have no reality beyond that.

The fact is that your materialistic view of this world is very much a minority one. Believe what you want, but the VAST VAST majority of humankind do not agree with you.

Yours is also a very unusual view. To imply that no supernatural beings exist, when we live in a very mysterious world, is a very strange view to take.

"My dear brothers, never forget, when you hear the progress of enlightenment vaunted, that the devil's best trick is to persuade you that he doesn't exist!"

French poet Baudelaire, 1864

Completely agree with you.

That doesn't mean they're right. There are plenty of things the vast majority of people used to believe which turned out to be false. I actually don't personally know anyone who would agree with you about Demons.

If that was all this 'demon' wanted to do it would have used the biological and chemical weapons it had at its disposal. Hitler didn't. Using those weapons could have killed and hurt a hell of a lot more people than were hurt or killed by conventional weapons.

Has anyone approached the topic of demons yet? I'm interested in hearing everyone's opinion on them. Whether they believe in them or not. I spoke to a Jehova Witness a few months back, who believed that the bad/evil things of this current era were because of the presence of demons. My belief is that evil comes from within and is not an external force. But I would like to hear everyone else's opinioin/belief/experiences. Please share.

I was walking past a stretcher in the hall at work (emergency department) recently, when I heard its occupant (a young woman) say to no one in particular, "I'm a demon". As she repeated this statement several times, I looked around at some my coworkers who were smiling or giggling as they were not feeling threatened at all. I thought to myself, "Demons don't announce their presence." Deception is an attribute of evil.

So what do you think was up with her?

Evil is ignorance of who and what we are. Sociopaths and psychopaths have a missing gene that allows them to go through life without empathy or sympathy. They are incapable of real emotion and thus cannot see anything wrong with exploiting others. They are selfish and self centered. I equate those who think that personal salvation is the point of life with sociopaths. They do not feel any connection to the rest of life, the interconnectedness and interdependency. They isolate themselves within a belief structure that elevates them above everyone else and do not feel any obligation to others beyond converting them to their way of thinking. We are all children of the Universe, we are made up of the same stuff, the same creative energy as stars, planets and galaxies. There is no separation. Everything is part of the One, the Source.

Harper can't help it.

She was in the emergency department seeking mental health assistance, Twila. I wasn't her nurse so I don't know if she was a voluntary (oriented/cooperative) or involuntary (altered/uncooperative) patient. She may have been involuntarily "triggered" by the commotion in the department at that time or she might have been intentionally "acting up" with some agenda (getting a room sooner).

Sometimes I like to ponder certain things in a figurative sense, Seems a bit more enriching to me to try and discover the moral of the story than focusing on the story line alone.
