I have gotten something similar for Rogers. To my junk account. Looks pretty real except for the billing date.

As a general rule, I never follow the link in the e-mail. If there is something they need to tell me, logging in through my bookmarked page will usually lead me there. If it doesn't, it is either not important or a scam.

Yes. The banks we have accounts at all have mailboxes included with the online account pages. If they were actually going to warn people about something they would post the news on the main website anyway unless it was a personal issue.

lol So far we've gotten stuff like that from 3 "banks". Only have accounts in one of the three mentioned Fairly frequently, we get some pile of crap claiming to be Paypal, too..

I've gotten them from Sunlife, Paypal, and various online games (World Of Warcraft, Diablo 3, Guild Wars, etc.) which is quite funny as I don't own any of those games, and I don't play online games!

I used to get those kind of emails all the time, especially when Rogers was joining with Yahoo and they got hacked.... I still have that first account and don`t receive them any more. If you do receive them my guess would be someone has sold your address.

Most of the scams come on my rogers account which I never use for anything. I have always thought Rogers sells their usernames as that is the only one I get the stuff on.

Yeah maybe.
I don't know, only know they got hacked at one point and I had junk galore in my one account.I now use that one for when stores ask for my email....it get tons of crap....I don't use email hardly at all anymore I've seen most of the jokes and am bored with the idea of passing them on so every once in a while I go in and dump everything out. I have 3 others from Rogers and get no junk in them.

Northern Ontario,
The bank I deal with has a very secure login......Just writing your account number brings you to a second login page which contains something of your own design, where you then write your password.
Should you use a different computer, like a Library somewhere, and that design doesn't come on, or a different one comes up, you either have a bogus web page or you wrote the wrong account #.
It also has the select personal questions when you access from a different computer and or a different ip.

I also use my bank account to get into my Service Canada account to access my T4's which are no longer mailed out.

Your company is required to give you your T4. What you are probably viewing is the other half they file with the Government of Canada.

The only ones I can access on line are CPP and OAS....but I have that as a back-up in case something gets lost in the mail
Company T4 and bank RRSP T4?? are always the last to come in the mail and are mail only option, so I don't bother cancelling the mail option for CPP and OAS.
For those of us with a spouse that is not as efficient on a computer, it is better to keep the mail (hard copy) option open, just in case........
