We're going to the cup!!!! All the way baby!!!

That would be nice, but I'd be a little more optimistic if they could handle the Ducks like they handled the Flames tonight. Probably the best game I've seen all year from an excitement aspect. A bonus when they can win a game without Bieksa!

i agree with p j stock on HNIC, just because hartley put his 4th line on to start the game

doesn't mean that torterella hAs to do the same, and good for bieksa for pulling the young
centerman out of the face off circle, and replaced him, it was his first nhl game.

torterella could have put his 3rd line out there, if he thought calgary was going to start
trouble from the drop of the puck, against his first line.
then torterella lost his marbles alltogether, and the league will deal with him for that.

haywire game from the start, and not a very good game, but they did hang in there, and won in
a shoot out, which is amazing on its own.

didn't know luongo would be playing, so kreskin would have been thrilled out of his mind.

next game in edmonton.

We'll see what the mighty Tortorella get's for his stunts tonight.

a fine

I'm a huge Luongo fan Talloola, you know that. LOOOOOOOOOO!! I say.

Bieksa moving in for the faceoff reminded me of a New West Bruins game I went to, when defenseman Boris Fistric went in goal for a penalty shot. You just knew all hell was going to break loose.

I would hope it is more than just a fine.

i suppose it could be, he didn't actually reach the area where bob hartely was, he
was turned back before anything dangerous happened, or any fisticuffs with hartley.
there was a wall of people to stop him, no one was injured or bleeding, nothing illegal
happened, but colin campbell won't be thrilled with what he did, and he will have to
do some explaining, and open his wallet.

do you think he will be suspended?

granted, it's not as bad as the last time this happened where fists flew, but, the intention was there. He needs to be reined in big time and EVERYONE needs to know that this kind of behavior by coaches will not be tolerated.

What are you talking about, Talloola? L.O.L. Best hockey game I've watched this year. It had a bit of everything, lots of suspense, O.T. shootout and the Canucks won. It just doesn't get any better than that.

I enjoyed Torts tonight.

As for PJ Stock, I do see his point however Burrows was likely scheduled out and Torts probably perceived it as a planned attempt to rough him up and see if his jaw was ok. Why else would they be out there?

try sometime to find videos of coaches rants over the years, there has been incidents much worse
than anything he did tonight, and i don't agree with his behavior, but he just joins a list of
others who came before him.

the ex coach of calgary comes to mind, as one of them, he ripped his 'top' clothing off, ended up bare topped, he was so rattled, that
seemed to be all he could think to do at the time.

well jlm, even though i am obviously a hockey person, love the game, know the game, i am however, a woman.
and when it comes to the sort of behavior, that happened at the beginning of the game, it embarrasses
me, makes the game look tacky and cheap, and i have no time for it at all.
i was waiting for the puck to drop, waiting to see just how these two teams would play each other, as
they do seem quite equal at this time.
with so many players ejected, the lines were allmixed up, and there was no flow to the game at all.
i hate the fighting, always have, but i do understand how a fight can break out from time to time,
but not 'this'.
this is a man's thing, and torterella is that, so his blood boils just like the rest of them, then
the punching, the swearing etc.
I don't find any of that exciting, i just wait for all of it to die down, so the game can start.

i love the game, the strategy, the speed, the talent, i respect the dedication and effort and hard
work by the players to achieve their goals.

the goalies played great, and the poor defense who had to play many more minutes than they should have,
endured.

just lucky canucks won the shoot out, becAuse no one expected them to.

yes, its good that they won, but don't forget calgary got a point too, not quite the same as a
regulation win, even though it is still worth 2 points.

It would be better alright if fighting was banned but it's not. I had a good feeling tonight about the shootout, Luongo appeared to be on top of his game, of course I had no knowledge about Calgary's goalie, except that he played alright tonight. It will be interesting to see if there is any carry over from tonight. Oh yeah, that one point Calgary took will not be a threat to the Canucks later on. -:)

P.S. Talloola, at this point what do you think of Tortorella compared to Vigneault?

Bieksa said it's nice to have a coach who has your back. Under Vignault they just took crap.

when it comes to the strategies and abilities to 'coach', i'm sure both of them are very able.
but there is definitely a swagger, vitality, pride, and much more dedication to look after each
other during the game.
he demands more, he knows there is more to give, he doesn't just stand there and look defeated like
vineault did, he is a fighter, and will stand with the team better, a better leader in my opinion.
he's not afraid to take risks, he's not worried about what people will think of him,

the players like him a lot, and they won't hesitate to say as much.

one should not follow the media concerning torterella, they want him to misbehave, so they can
trash him for it, laugh at him for it, just to have something to gossip about.
