Who cares--even if he were an expert, it souldn't make any difference. It's esstnially a political issue, so whether you're left or right is what matters, not how much you actually know about the subject.

I think "wrong or right" is more of an important issue than left or right!

I used to think that too. But I've come to believe that people will change facts to suit their belief before they change their belief to suit the facts. It doesn't matter if it's the wold expert telling them.

Also malarkey.

Oil sands are the al Qaeda media myth for Greens.

What are they distracting you from?

I'm just commenting on how grotesque it looked.

I'm not surprised Neil would have his opinion after seeing s.hit like that.

Did Neil bother to look at reclaimed forests, lakes and swamps that are thriving with life that no longer has to deal with the natural bitumen and poly-metallic shale toxins? Why are the tribes in SK directly across the border enjoying the prosperity of raping the forest for logging, uranium and soon the SK oil sands will open up on their land and they aren't going to complain one single bit. The Chipewayans aren't as smart and driven as the Dene and Cree?

What's your definition of "smart and driven?" Would it, by any chance, have "more money" as a major, if not the sole, component?

Dual citizenship is a scam. Either you are Canadian living in Canada or your not really Canadian. It's like an honorary degree from a University.

Your passport if you even have one will never have as many stamps as mine. You can't even afford to go drink in Point Roberts.
Dual citizenship is a saving grace for me.
My daughter (several generations Canadian) married an American. Her children were born in Texas: had paperwork processed as dual citizens as fast as they were almost out of the womb

Why? because in our hearts and even my daughters, they are first and foremost Canadian. And I so wished they had been born in Canada, but....sigh...

Dual citizenship is a protection that our grandchildren will have rights in Canada. Further Citizenship laws are changing so it was best to make sure they had papers asap. Every second year, my daughter spends at least 6 months in Canada for her children to know Canadian way of life.
Dual citizenship for many - is not about Famous people jumping ship, or some "use" dual citizenship to make money "legally" or gain status of different types.

But for many, it is to protect rights of those with loved ones on both sides of the border. IMHO. :)

Funny how this chart says "active mining footprint".

Just perform a satelite google OLD inactive mining footprints on Canadian soil and one would find a significant increase in the concept of 715 km. Google the Southern Border of B.C. Alberta and US corner, near Sparwood, Elkford and have a good look at some Massive black holes seen from far above the land, long before zooming in to a kilo above ground level.

Not sure who creates these - maps or statistics, but it is far from the reality of mining damage in Canada or current oil sands or otherwise damages.

Sigh....we are but plebians with really no full knowledge or say ....because huge corporations will always cover up their tracks or all the exact information of real land desecration or fallout of these massive projects.

Just like the GST, they will wait 20 years, until everyone forgets that the government said the GST was a TEMPORARY tax and wham it to people as a regular enforced tax...... Same for all these pipelines or projects. They pressure and wait until people forget..... or they force people out of jobs, closing down companies and then wait for starvation and people desperate for jobs..... don't think it does not happen. Westar Mining, Ocean Falls, and many other could add names of whole companies closed ....as not viable...then magically reopened mere 1 or 2 years later as viable...hmmmm

The current government of Harper just wants to sell Canada out from under our feet. How much of that company for Enbridge has off shore ownership? Do we really know? Canadian laws change rapidly for foreign investors to own 49% of companies. How long before foreign investment can legally own more than 50% of companies and bring in their foreign workers legally - for way less dollars, safety, protection and otherwise. Already happening in Western Pulp and Paper Industry.

sigh....One cannot serve two masters, ....the love of money is the root of all evil...

In saying all this: I am glad Neil Young and others are advocates against Enbridge Oil.

Activist - AK tiv ist (n) - a person who knows nothing except that he or she is RIGHT.
"Greenpeace" type peoples always seem or act radical, so as to try to counter balance those with bottomless "greenback" eyes.

Then there are the rest of us, watching that tennis match, trying to think we have a say in the outcome.

Actually, I was unfair to activists. Many of them are deeply knowledgeable of the subjects upon which they act.

It's the celebrity artistes that irk me.

As far as trying to think we have a say in the outcome, speak for yourself. I don't recall ever thinking I had any say.

The Chipewyans have the identical opportunities.

Cree have been working people for hundreds of years and came from Quebec to the West to work in the late 1700s Grouping all tribes and painting with the same brush is problematic in understanding Canadian F'N history. They also embraced the Catholic religion.. Call them sell outs if you will but they were the first apples.

Greenpeace approves of the pipelines and how oil sands reclamation is coming along. The real wingnuts is the Sierra Club who for some reason was getting funding the natural gas industry to help attack coal.

Almost as grotesque as the smog over LA... Say, Doesn't Neil live in that area?

Almost makes you wonder why he hasn't set his sights on these heinous impacts

Forest Ethics are another group of fanatics.

Interesting, they are funded through Tides who are in turn capitalized by various Foundations and some family trusts that have deep investments in oil that is not dependent on KXL.

From an economics perspective, it would make my oil more valuable if I were able to restrict the supply to those refineries on the Gulf... One might say it would be a wise investment to fund some eco-tards to poo-poo AB/Sask oil for a few million and make an extra few 100 M on the back end.

Wonder when the greenie weeines will figure-out that they are merely simpletons and dupes?
