I love how Loc always finds the most vile dregs of the op/ed world. It's like the political version of that weird cousin on fb who posts boil lancing videos and road kill art.

Wow. Some people have absolutely no shame.

I'm sure you posted this just to piss off people like me, but seriously, there has to be some limits of what people will use to troll other people.

I'm not responsible for your...feelings.

You're welcome.

The scary thing is that some of the most vile stuff was actually coming from people actively employed by one of Canada's larger "news" organizations.

I always knew Ezra Levant was a ****, but I never knew he would stoop this low to get attention and score cheap political hits.

Why? Don't like to admit we could have had a crazier mayor?

Depression is not crazy, it is an illness that 20 % of Canadians will encounter over their lifetime. The stigma of this illness is significant, which is shameful, and this prevents many from seeking help, either professionals or from friends and family.

I hope you are just trolling. Who on earth would choose this time to insult a person's right to marriage and to raise children?
I had the impression it was quite recent. That is what drove my opinion. Clearly I was in error and apologize, as no offense was intended. I was wrong.

Smitherman used drugs in the mid 90's, before he entered public life and long before he adopted children. He got the help he needed and the only reason his drug use became public knowledge is because he chose to reveal that in order to work with other people struggling with addiction.

1/5 people in Canada experience mental illness in their lifetime. It isn't something that automatically makes you unable to raise children. Christopher's illness became much worse recently, but he was also accessing a great deal of help to try to fight the illness.

These are not things that would exclude other people from adoption. It just seems like homophobic people looking for reason to attack a homosexual couple. There has never been any suggestion that their children were not receiving all of the love and support that they could possibly want.

Okie dokie. You are just a sick human being. I guess I will have to move on from you.
Yet it is a okay for you to make fun and denigrate what you consider a mental illness in the Ford .
I must admit that I am mistaken though . Born Ruff did not keep Rob Ford running for mayor running for a week .

While I am sure that George Smitherman, dedicated father and loving husband according to Bornruff, is in a tough place right now, it is undeniable that he was a sh!tty Minister who had the fecal touch when it came to portfolios.

I guess I should qualify my disgusting behavior by referencing what I am talking about.

  • “I didn’t see it coming,” George Smitherman said after the all-party Legislative committee probing the ORNGE scandal.
  • The eHealth Ontario spending scandal has Deputy Premier George Smitherman's fledgling Toronto mayoral candidacy on life support.

How many instances can you actually find of me making fun of Ford's problems? I talk about them in all seriousness because they are serious and he refuses to acknowledge them. The Rob Ford issue isn't a joke.

Hey, you go right ahead. He's a stooge and deserves the denigration. The danger is that people actually take him seriously. At least he saved Toronto from Smitherman...........Good job Rob. Now go play some football.

I ridiculed Diaper-Boy Smitherman well before he got married and I ain't gonna stop now. It's sad he lost his spouse but he still squandered billions while in gubmint and deserves scorn.

Funny that I have not seen you write anything about Smitherman recently, but now that his husband just died, you feel it is the perfect time to start with the homophobic remarks?

I thought it was pretty funny for a while there.

While I really don't think that the death of his husband is the best time to muse about how terrible you think he would have been as mayor, how could Smitherman have been any worse than Ford?

Our taxes have still gone up, we pay higher user fees, we have no more subway track than we did when he started. All we have gained is an international reputation as the city with a mayor who smokes crack, drives drunk, and gives detailed descriptions of his sex life, all while on the job.

actually your constant crying about Smitherman and Ford is getting

This might blow your mind, but I have only talked about Smitherman in response to other people making pretty vile comments about him and his family in relation to the death of his husband.

If you don't want to hear about Smitherman, a good first step would be not to partake in a thread about him, but you could also go after the people who keep bringing him up.

Personally, partisan 'he started it' politics make me disrespect the parties engaging in it, and even when people I dislike or disagree with die, I shut my damn mouth, but, I also wouldn't wade into this thread feigning shock or surprise that people have carried the message of the OP forward.
