But in the long run would save money on your bill unlike wind and solar.

Not my bill it wouldn't. Look I live in the Forest City and we didn't have any tree limbs breaking any power lines.

Somehow this all must be Rob Ford's fault, I just know he's got to be behind it all.

In the car world some say that Ford means Fix Or Repair Daily.
Found on Road Dead

I love my current ford.

But then it's name is not Rob.

If he doesn't take off some pounds soon good old Rob will be too.

While you have provided nothing more than opinion regarding any timeline discussion; my post was an attempt to suggest Toronto's problems would still be the very same had you not even had a Rob Ford anywhere in the equation.

I do not propose debating any "hypothetical" timeline issue as being either productive or anything other than a complete waste of time. It would also seem to have been more than adequately shown that those in a position of authority to make such an assessment have agreed on it making very little if any difference.

Now what? Continue focus upon Ford or demand future change to mitigate a repeat of this as you can take it to the bank that regardless if Ford serves any tangible influence in the governance of Toronto in the future, another storm undoubtedly WILL.

There is nothing hypothetical about what I am saying. It is what happened on Sunday. The city managers have confirmed this numerous times.

People do need to realize what their leaders are doing right now. We have a guy who refuses to provide staff help when they say they need it, and refused to talk with the deputy mayor or the province to coordinate efforts. He tweets out "help" for residents that is completely contrary to what staff are trying to convey to people. He is a useless blob that people have to work around to get things done, which is really not helpful in a situation like this.

To funny .The staff went to deputy mayor to enact emergency measures. Found out they didn't have authority despite seizing control of
the Ford's budget , and are now blaming the Ford . Once again to funny . Keep up the crocodile tears BornRuff , lol
A ruff guy like you should be able to handle a little cold weather.

Ford is the one who had the power to do what city staff said they needed, so why wouldn't you blame Ford if you think he should have done this?

Just got to thinking Rob could probably use some encouragement, maybe someone with some imagination could set up a thread dedicated to cheering up Rob, I would but I'm not sure what format would be appropriate. All the bluster aside he's probably the loneliest man in the world.

While I wish him no ill will, frankly I couldn't care less about him. I actually felt sorry for him for a bit now when I see all the vitriol flying around on here with people defending him and others denigrating him it's like driving past an accident scene...just feel lucky not to be involved.

He is an adult... way back before this whole thing blew up and one of his first staff quit they said to him when they left: "get some help" but no one knew what they meant. Now we do.

No one reaches that size and puts that crap up their nose without having serious problems. Now I just wish he would take it away from public view and deal with it. It isn't even embarrassing any more it is just critical for his kids.

I just try to look and pretend I'm hearing this about some politician I don't know. Otherwise it's too easy to skew your opinions based on whether you like or dislike Ford, and whether he is or isn't a crack head.

Oh, you're looking at things objectively? No wonder you aren't getting anywhere in this thread, lol.

I guess we know 99% for certain he's smoked crack a time or two, what we don't know is whether or not he's a "crack head"!

lol, personally, I could really care less about the distinction. But, I also won't judge someone's every action based on what they got caught doing.

Okay JLM, would you care to address the meat of the post, or attempt to pick nits about Ford's drug use and substance abuse issues?
