I was just going over the highlights of the Carolina game and found a highlight I missed. The tying goal for Carolina was a few milliseconds from crossing the goal line and Burrows swept it away.

was it the 'counted' goal that made it 2-2, or one that 'would' have made it 3-3, just wondering if
they got a goal they shouldn't have, but it would have been reviewed.

He may be talking about a goal Carolina damn near scored toward the end of the 3rd period while the Canucks were short handed. I know my heart was in my mouth at the time.

Had that goal counted, it would have been tied 3-3.

CANUCKS (14-10-5) at PREDATORS (13-11-3)

TV: SNET-P, FS-TN

Last 10: Vancouver 3-4-3; Nashville 5-4-1

Season series: This is the first game between the Vancouver Canucks and Nashville Predators. Vancouver swept its season series with Nashville in 2012-13, winning three games by a combined score of 13-6.

Big story: The Canucks wrap up a four-game road trip Tuesday, where they face a Predators team looking to rebound after opening its homestand with back-to-back losses.

Team Scope:

Canucks: A win here is all that separates the Canucks from a winning road trip before they head back to British Columbia. Vancouver defeated the Carolina Hurricanes 3-2 Sunday with Ryan Kesler's two goals and 29 saves by backup goalie Eddie Lack, which dulled the sting of a 5-2 defeat the night before to the New York Rangers and former coach Alain Vigneault.

"When you score two quick ones in a road game, it backs them off a bit," Kesler said of the win at Carolina. "You've got to give them credit though. They came back in the second and it was a whole new hockey game."

Vancouver is in fifth place in the Pacific Division, eight points behind the first-place San Jose Sharks, who have three games in hand.

Predators: In either Eastern Conference division, Nashville would be in Stanley Cup Playoff position or in the hunt, but in the Central Division with the Chicago Blackhawks, St. Louis Blues and Colorado Avalanche, the Predators are well off the pace of the top three and the race to be one of the Western wild card teams is shaping up to be a daunting one.

The Predators have done themselves no favors on their homestand, getting shut out by the Edmonton Oilers on Thursday before losing in a shootout to the Philadelphia Flyers on Saturday.

"I thought we probably deserved a better fate," coach Barry Trotz said. "We played well enough with the young defense. Any one of their defensemen has more experience than all six of ours.

"We should have won the game, but we didn't."

Nashville ends its homestand Thursday against Carolina.

Who's hot: Vancouver defenseman Jason Garrison has a goal and five assists in his past five games. ... Nashville forward Mike Fisher has three goals in the past four games.

Injury report: Vancouver forward Jordan Schroeder (sprained ankle) is expected to be out until mid-to-late December. Defensemen Kevin Klein (lower body) and Shea Weber (eye) are questionable for Nashville, which placed forward Filip Forsberg (upper body) on injured reserve Sunday.

alex burrows won't be playing, as he has a broken jaw, needed surgery, resulted from edler's shot
in the carolina game, so we won't see him for a while, nothing good is happening for him this
season so far, might as well get all of the bad things over with at once.

nashville will definitely be weaker without 'shea weber', not sure if he is suiting up tonight or not.
they have had their hardships this year, but nashville and canucks have a good rivalry, and they
will come ready to play.

I wondered about Burrows. I didn't see the Edler shot so I don't know the details. I once had a player on one of my teams who had an absolutely blistering shot from the point.....the only trouble was that a lot his howitzers would arrive at the crease about head high. I used to scream at him to keep his shots down. I don't think he knew where his shots were going.

luongo was the best player for canucks tonight, he kept them in the gAme for two periods, as nashville
was outplaying them to that point, then they came alive, had a very good last period, kesler and
friends turned it up.

good win

Yep, some folks seem to forget about the games Luongo plays well.

Could be two tough ones coming up.....................Phx. and Colorado.

One thing to remember is there are two sides to every story. In a perfect world Canuck offense could score onr goal and Luongo could have a shut-out and we'd win one to nothing. Luongo won't get a shut-out that often and if the offense doesn't get more than a couple or three goals, winning is not automatic but if they get three or four goals, there is a good chance it will be a win.

I didn't see the game. Glad to hear Luongo played decent after getting called out by Torts.

the chance of winning any game 1-0 are very very slim, and one thing for all of you canuck fans who
never see anything the 'other' team does, only what the canucks do, or don't do, is watch both sides
of a game, i've harped on that point many times.

and what you said above is just another bit of 'only' what the canucks do.

did you not see how nashville outplayed canucks tonight for two periods.

luongo doesn't care if he gets a shut out or not, he just wants to help his team win, just as all of
his team mates do.

the two sides of the story juan are the canucks and the 'other' team and what they came to do.

if the other team scores 3 goals, there is a very good chance 'they' will win, but tonight for two
periods luongo prevented that from happening, thus helping his team mates get themselves into the
game which they did in the last period, that is what a team is all about helping and supporting
each other, picking each other up, leaning on each other, etc.

I didn't see the game. Glad to hear Luongo played decent after getting called out by Torts.

he has stated as much for a few games now, just including him in the fact that the team needs to be
better, and that means him too.

he hasn't been the hero, and he hasn't been the goat. get use to it, he has played well all season
thus far, he's not perfect, but he is of great value to the team, if not, he would have been on the
bench tonight.

there are two sides to every game, oh brother, i won't forget that one any time soon. lol
