Yep. Still happens. One thing about a cheque is they are cleared physically, by image on a computer, but they still get a stamp by the payee's bank so it's a good receipt of payment. I use them for paying the CRA my company taxes as I won't trust their online system.

Some just want to destroy everything just to satiate their own greed, while others go out of their way to achieve a nice environment without concerning themselves about having the wherewithal to buy something to eat, other than they think the Gov't should hand it to them.
