What was the fight between God and Satan about?

The greatest disservice to out planet and social justice is the notion in many religions, Christianity included, that paradise is beyond the present, not to be found here, but rather on some Elysian Field after death.
Living life for some future reward is a wasted life. Heaven and hell are right here, right now. It is all how we treat life. Folks ask me all the time, "how is life treating you". I always say, life doesn't treat me. I treat it.

And, this message is used by power to calm dissent, to control, and to promise reward for for unmerited fealty and obeisance.

A deeply insightful observation, I'd have given you 50 greenies for that one if I could. Love to sit down across a table from you some day over a few drinks for a long chat, there is much we'd disagree about but that's what'd make it interesting.

But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and all of you know the truth. I do not write to you because you do not know the truth, but because you do know it and because no lie comes from the truth. Who is the liar? It is whoever denies that Jesus is the Christ. Such a person is the antichrist—denying the Father and the Son. No one who denies the Son has the Father; whoever acknowledges the Son has the Father also.

As for you, see that what you have heard from the beginning remains in you. If it does, you also will remain in the Son and in the Father. And this is what he promised us—eternal life.

I am writing these things to you about those who are trying to lead you astray. As for you, the anointing you received from him remains in you, and you do not need anyone to teach you. But as his anointing teaches you about all things and as that anointing is real, not counterfeit—just as it has taught you, remain in him.

You find truth in a book. Some people find it in other books and still others find no truth in any of them. You may be right for you but you are not right for anybody else. That is the point. "The path is narrow". Each person is on their own journey and that journey is a solo one, the path less followed.

Quoting your holy book does not add to the conversation when others do not believe as you do. I know you think that those that do not believe need to be saved from their ignorance but that is self righteous, arrogant and judgmental. Your path is just that - your path. You have a right to travel it, but do not judge another's path. It is against your own rules: "judge not lest ye shall be judged". The Source communicates with each individual in their own way.

BTW: Jesus was a man. The Christ is a title for the anointed one, a person of higher consciousness. The title could be given to any persons of higher consciousness. I knew a aboriginal spiritual elder who personified Christ consciousness and who lived the very life that Jesus taught that we should live. That man was far more a Christian than any person I have met that professes to be a Christian. He did not believe about Christ, he lived the life of Christ: a humble, selfless life dedicated to helping his fellow humans.

Cliffy, I like chatting with you. I know we differ in opinion. I am not trying to be judgemental, rather a witness to the truth - and I know people have different views on what the truth might be. After having met Christ - the one scriptures are a witness to - i believe to witness to anything different would be wrong to do to others. I am more interested in the Being and His ways. His thoughts needn't conform to mine. He did provide a path and that is the journey I want to be on. Don't construe that to mean the journey is a cookie cutter version and everyone is given the same. For you, maybe scripture is a cage, for me it is freedom.

I have been wondering about this for awhile, and my problem is that we only have one side of the story - what's the devil's version?

There is that huge Devils Bible but I could not find anything quoted from it anywhere on the net.
Wow. One wonders why not.

The bible is the devil's version. It is a distraction from the truth of why we are here and who we really are. If you knew the truth, there would be no need for priests and ministers. Power and control: the clergy desperately cling to the lie to maintain their strangle hold on our souls.

Truer words were never spoken. Let's not forget the collusion from our governments and the Noble Lie.

Churches work against us while we subsidize them through our taxes.

This topic would be more appropriately placed in "Christian Discussion:". In Christianity, the Satan myth arises out of a personification of evil. In Judaism, Satan is an agent of G-d, who places obstacles in our path; it is through these obstacles in life that we grow.

I can partially agree from a, --- if it does not kill us it makes us stronger POV, but a person can also challenge himself and grow that way.

If Satan is so helpful though, why do you think God has sentenced him to hell and insists that he is evil?

Sun's coming up. Like a big bald head. Poking up over the grocery store. It's Sharkey's day. It's Sharkey's day today. Sharkey wakes up and Sharkey says: There was this man... And there was this road...And if only I could remember these dreams... I know they're trying to tell me...something. Ooooeee. Strange dreams.(Strange dreams). Oh yeah. And Sharkey says: I turn around, it's fear. I turn around aagain And it's love. Oh yeah. Strange dreams. And the little girls sing:Oooee Sharkey. And the manager says: Mr. Sharkey? He's not at his desk right now. Could I take a message? And the little girls sing:Oooeee Sharkey. He's Mister Heartbreak. They sing: Oooeee Sharkey. Yeah. He's Mister Heartbreak. And Sharkey says: All of nature talks to me. If I could just figure out what it was trying to tell me. Listen! Trees are swinging in the breeze. They're talking to me. Insects are rubbing their legs together. They're all talking. They're talking to me. And short animals- They're bucking up on their hind legs. Talking.
Talking to me. Hey! Look out! Bugs are crawling up my legs! You know? I'd rather see this on TV. Tones it down. And Sharkey says: I turn around, it's fear. I turn around again, and it's love. Nobody knows me. Nobody knows my name. And Sharkey says: All night long I think of those little planes up there. Flying around. UYou can't even see them. They're specks! And they're full of tiny people. Going places. And Sharkey says: You know? I bet they could all land on the head of a pin. And the little girls sing: Ooooeee. Sharkey! He's Mister Heartbreak. They sing: Oooeee. That Sharkey! He's a slow dance on the edge of the lake. He's a whole landscape gone to seed. He's gone wild! He's screeching tires on an oil slick at midnight on the road to Boston a long time ago. And Sharkey says: Lights! Camera! Action! TIMBER! At the beginning of the movie, they know they have to find each other. But they ride off in opposite directions. Sharkey says: I turn around, it's fear. I turn around again, and it's love. Nobody knows
me. Nobody knows my name. You know? They're growing mechanical trees. They grow to their full height. And then they chop themselves down. Sharkey says: All of life comes from some strange lagoon. It rises up, it bucks up to it's full height from a boggy swamp on a foggy night. It creeps into your house. It's life! It's life! I turn around, it's fear. I turn around again, and it's love. Nobody knows me. Nobody knows my name. Deep in the heart of darkest America. Home of the brave. Ha! Ha! Ha! You've already paid for this. Listen to my heart beat. And the little girls sing: Oooeee Sharkey. He's a slow dance on the edge of the lake. They sing:Ooooeeee. Sharkey. HEe's Mister Heartbreak. Paging Mr. Sharkey. White courtesy telephone please. And Sharkey says: I turn around, it's fear. I turn around again, and it's love. And the little girls sing:Ooooeee Sharkey. Yeah. On top of Old Smokey all covered with snow. That's where I wanna, that's where I'm gonna That's where I'm gonna go.

Hell is a Christian notion, not Jewish. So, Satan is Christian?

Correct.

So is the fall and original sin while the Jews do not see a fall but an elevation and they do not punish the children for what their parents do which is a Christian staple and quite an immoral concept.

About 500,000 Wildebeest are born each year!

About 1/3 will be lost to predation!

That's why wildebeests must really learn how to run fast...

Or fight back...

Or work as a team...
