I see. If these primal messages were so nonsensical I wonder how it is we've survived all this time. Could it be that it was actually very good science? Of course you must have burnt your fingers on hot stoves constantly as a child and you probably still stand out in the rain and you never have your mittens. Do you let sleeping dogs lie I wonder?

A non believer in primal messages dosen't get as old as you are Sinister?

You don't have to be right all the time to survive Beave, you've made it for quite a while. Detecting patterns that aren't real, as we are prone to do, has a certain survival value, better to avoid a possible hazard that isn't real than miss one that is, we're programmed to preferentially make certain kinds of errors because it's safer.

Some Christian's renounce it. Others want to redeem it. What is your opinion of/approach to Halloween? What biblical principles apply?
“I have the right to do anything,” you say—but not everything is beneficial. “I have the right to do anything”—but not everything is constructive.

Perhaps dressing like Gumby, carving pumpkins and eating a bag of candy are not the most constructive choices one can make. However, I am free to do so.

Live as free people, but do not use your freedom as a cover-up for evil.....so, if I donned the Gumby suit and ran through the neighborhood painting pentagrams on my neighbors' garage doors, that would be abusing my freedom and rather wrong. So, first thing this morning I got to the hardware store, purchased some paint thinner and got to cleaning straight away.

It's fun for people who like to dress up, and the kids love it so can be fun for all ages. Love some of the decor that people go to the trouble of putting up for one night.

Martin Luther was a limited thinker; he could only come up with ninety-five issues with Christianity as practised. .

Certainly said:
Interesting analysis here, DB. "The departed souls of the Sages" have every right to look with "dismay" on the "misconception and utterly travestied motives" of society today. While knowledge about the universe continues to increase among men, the moral fiber of society continues on a steady and predictable decline:

"But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God— having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with such people." (2 Timothy 3:1-5 NIV)

As heads are filled with many facts and hearts are left unattended, corruption creeps in...

Even Socrates wrote about society being like that. Thus it has always been.

The steady and predictable decline in morality throughout history and today punches some holes in the contemporary notion that mankind is "evolving up", Sal

Mmmm that would depend solely upon one's personal belief structure and how one views the past. When do you think things were more moral? And moral how?

I don't see a decline in morality. If one compares different ages to behavior today there is no difference and thus no decline. I do in fact believe we are evolving up because less than 100 years ago child labour was endorsed, people were worked to death and starved solely for profit and slavery even during biblical times was encouraged and supported. We are much further up than that now at least in some countries. We still have a long way to go.

Not only has it always been but it always must be. We cannot appreciate heaven without experiencing hell. Without that polarity there is literally nothing.

A new discussion thread is needed.

I have to agree with Motar. I think we are mostly circling the drain of depravity. We will soon flush ourselves directly down the sewer of philosophical bilge and land in the groundwaters of excrement. There we will roll and frolic. Unaware that we are covered in bowel juice.

Oh my! Only 95???? Really. It is not the quantity, but the quality. And by the way, 95 isn't chump change.
