Because they play baseball!
Think I heard of that once. It's something played by girls and men who aren't tough enough for hockey...so girls.
Toronto is part of the U.S? LMAO@U! How are those rolling eyes feeling now? That fine education I assume.
So sorry. It's played by one country and one team from Toronto which happens to be South of the 49th and isn't considered Canada by most of us in the west. Hardly makes 'world champions'. Once you get 3 or 4 or, well, 200 more countries involved maybe you can be world champs. Right now it is the most boring and girly sport and the winners (just like your international reputation) are world chumps!

Dying of boredom is a serious risk.

That's what I almost did when I watched some of the Boston Red Sox's match on BT Sport the other night. It was one of the most tedious things I've ever seen in the 88 year history of television. I don't recall anything interesting of note happening in the space of 45 minutes. Give me cricket any day of the week. At least there is actual gameplay in that game. Baseball makes watching paint dry look like a Bruce Willis movie.

Cricket... lethal.... lmao

You obviously never read the post or watched the video.

Cricket make baseball lookes like tiddlywinks at the Women's Institute.

You watched it! LMAO!

I haven't watched a minute of cricket in my life but there you were watching the Boston Red Sox win it all! Crying no doubt.

I love it!

I didn't watch the final match. I watched an earlier match. I had no idea what was going on nor that they were even playing for the World Series. But I didn't watch it all. I found out that I've now got BT Sport on my Freeview when I was flicking through the channels and it was the baseball that was on when I discovered I had that channel.

I didn't watch much. It was tedious, so I had my supper I went to bed.

Goalie pads, football helmets, and a big clown bat.

Cricket.... good grief

I've already shown you that a cricket ball is harder than a baseball and travels much faster and, unlike baseball, serious injuries and deaths have actually occurred in cricket as a result of a missile hitting them at 110mph.

I hate to break it to you, but most Brits are completely unaware that the "World" Series has just taken place.

I didn't know Boston red Sox were playing for it until I saw it on this thread when I logged on.

I watched half an hour or so of the baseball a few nights ago on BT Sport, but it was utterly tedious.

The most fun I got out of the match was seeing a 123 year old umpire constantly standing there and spitting s**t out of his mouth.

Along with at least 6.5 billion other people.

Not to worry BL...it didn't matter to anyone other than 60% of the population of Boston.

Well if you think baseball is fun to watch this should keep you on the edge of your seat for a few hours....

Well Eagle, have you learned your lesson yet?

It is unacceptable for you to enjoy things unless the collective also universally enjoys them. Discussion of things not previously approved for universal enjoyment, will be shat upon. If you complain or discuss said protest pooping, flinging may commence.

Karrie my friend... you know I am so enjoying this.

I am hoping this will be a HUGE thread! Two pages thus far and going strong!

The only thing that can better this is a NY Yankee fan coming in here to talk trash. Do you know how many pics and articles there are on last nights game?

Grumpy brits and the geographically challenged can not rain on this...

It takes a special kind of poor sport to belittle a game someone else loves. Blackleaf must be angry that there have been more baseball events in the Summer Olympics than cricket. I've never played cricket, but as a fan and participant of many sports, I would give it a try. Looks like a lot of fun. Anyway, troll got what troll was looking for...

Hats off to Boston, and Ortiz. I don't remember a year when the MVP would have been easier to pick.
