All this nonsense about spying and how terrible it is spying on friends.
Folks this has happened for decades let alone centuries. It will also
go on for many more. They spied they got caught big deal. Does a
single adult person not understand spying is a game that goe on forever.
Spying can get some killed and no one cares about the law either that is
almost too funny "may have broken a german law"

Why should non-Germans have to abide by German laws?

How typical of the Krauts to want to boss everybody else about.

I got news for you, the Germans don't give a sh!t about US law either. It is quite common allies spying on each other. This has been become an issue because the US got "caught" doing it.

BBC News - NSA spying allegations: Are US allies really shocked?

Yeah. People, particularly on the Left, are getting their knickers in a twist because of the "shocking" news that a country has been spying on another country. In Britain, the left-wing bible The Guardian seems to be particularly shocked at revelations that one country (the US) has been spying on another country (Germany). It just cannot stop reporting on these "shocking" and "outrageous" spying claims which seem to have taken it completely by surprise.

The reality, of course, is that countries have been spying on other countries, even allies, for centuries. Elizabeth I used to have a network of spies, which were like the Tudor equivalent of MI5 and MI6.

The fact of the matter is that there are only four countries which the US does NOT spy on - Britain, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.

That's because those five countries - the big Anglophone allies - are members of Five Eyes. These five countries are supposed to trust each other implicitly and therefore neither of them spies on any of the other member. They also share secret information with each other that they don't share with anyone else.
