The Queen is the most famous person in the world, whose profile appears on every coin, banknote and stamp of 16 nations.
Are you drunk?

The old hag only appears on the $20 bill here.

You can't expect a Head of State to travel about with no security.
No, but I can expect her to pay her own way with all the stolen taxpayer money instead of stealing more.

Johnny Rotten, on the other hand, sang a few crap songs in the 1970s and appeared in a few butter commercials, and now I'm being told that Rotten has done more for his country than Her Majesty.
On a net gain level he has. He generated income for the economy without taking any from it. The old b*tch on the other hand generates little revenue for the economy and costs a boatload to the taxpayer.

The Royals have generated far more money for the economy than Rotten ever has. A LOT more.

And Rotten is a guy who hasn't paid British taxes for years.

So she doesn't live off the taxpayer's money.

No, she doesn't. Try doing some research before posting.

What, no response regarding your erroneous claims about the money? Not that I expect any from you.

So the Queen appears on every Canadian coin and a Canadian banknote.

And yet you try to insult my intelligence by trying to make me believe that she is somehow less familiar than a punk who has done nothing of note since 1977.

My Good Son of Liberty,

I realise how your and your comrades' having tossed tea into harbours and revolted against the Crown might propose such a drastic measure. But, bear with me. There are far gentler and civilised means.

Let me quote from Peter Pan. "Every time a child says, 'I don't believe in faeries,' there is a faery somewhere that falls down dead."

Royalty are like faeries. In fact, the two sets are not disjoint. It we people on the pavement did not show up for their pomp and parades, did not clap when they intoned a speech prepared by their betters, did not buy commemorative spoons, cups, and toiletries, did not wipe tears of admiration, royalty like faeries would fade away.

I remain your correspondent,
Spade

And they have taken a lot more than they ever generated.

If he doesn't live there he isn't required to. He pays his taxes in the USA.

Really, take your own advice.
The Queen's official expenditure increased by £200,000 (0.6 per cent) from £32.1 million in 2010/11 to £32.3 million in 2011/12, according to the royal public finances annual report.
Civil List funding, much of it used to pay the wages of her Royal Household staff, fell by £100,000 from £13.7 million to £13.6 million.
The Government also provides money, known as grants-in-aid, to cover the areas of royal travel, property services and communications and information.
The taxpayer funds used to pay for official air and rail travel at home and abroad for members of the Royal Family increased by £100,000 from £6 million in 2010/11 to £6.1 million in 2011/12.
There was also an increase in spending on property services - money used for the upkeep of royal residences and other buildings - from £11.9 million to £12.2 million.
Queen costs each person in Britain 52p - Telegraph
So the Queen appears on every Canadian coin and a Canadian banknote.
Should we look at all the other coutries currency or do you just want to go with you are full of sh*t and making it up as you go?

Please do quote the post where I said that. You need to take a prozac and learn to attribute claims to those who post them instead of anyone you like.

She's the most famous person in the world. End of. Sod your silly list conducted by some obscure website.

Here's a couple more

IMDb: Top 25 most famous people of 2011 - a list by dean-103-284721

Ten most famous people still alive today

Most people under 40 in Britain respect and admire the Queen and think Britain is better off as a monarchy.

Got a link or are you simply assuming that everyone maintains the same unhealthy fixation as yourself?

And they have taken a lot more than they ever generated.

Bull****.

If he doesn't live there he isn't required to. He pays his taxes in the USA.

He's no right to complain when he's swanned off abroad to avoid paying UK taxes.

The fact that you are trying to make the monarchy look expensive by giving me a website which states that they only cost each person the same as a chocolate bar each YEAR is just laughable.

I wonder how much a President Cameron or a President Blair (perish the thought) would cost each one of us every year.

Should we look at all the other coutries currency or do you just want to go
with you are full of sh*t and making it up as you go?

You can do what you like. She still appears on far more coins and banknotes and stamps and paintings, and she appears in far more newspapers, books, websites, magazines and on TV channels around the world every single day than Lydon does.

post the links supporting your claim. Show how much, we in Canada, pay out to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth and her immediate family. We'll start there.

And how do they come up with these silly lists? Do they go around the world asking people what the most famous person in the world is?

The most famous person in the world, by any measure, is the Queen, and anyone with an ounce of commonsense would tell you that.

Got a link or are you simply assuming that everyone maintains the same unhealthy fixation as yourself?

Why don't you do your own research? It may be an inconvenient truth for you that the monarchy is very popular in Britain, especially Her Majesty, even amongst younger people.

in fact, she's probably more popular amongst the under 25s than she is with older people.

Why can't you do your own research instead of asking me?

The monarchy in Britain cost each person just 52p in 2012. You won't get a system of governance much cheaper than that.

You do your own reserach on how much it costs Canadians, if anything.

And the monarchy doesn't go into the Queen's pockets. That would be like saying the money that Americans are charged for their republic all goes into the pockets of Obama. Or all the money that the French pay for their courrupt republic all goes into Hollande's bank account. It's just a silly thing to say and shows a lack of research.

Yes

Sorry Blackie, but doesn't seem to be the case now, does it?

I already told you, people under 25 think that The Queen is someone they know that might cross-dress

Sorry Blackie, but doesn't seem to be the case now, does it?

Well, I can't think of a single person more recognisable than the Queen. And neither can you, for that matter.

I already told you, people under 25 think that The Queen is someone they know that might cross-dress

People under 25 see the Queen for what she is - a person to be respected and admired, and this has remained consistent for decades.

No president could ever command such levels of support and respect and admiration that the Queen has.

Well, I can't think of a single person more recognisable than the Queen. And neither can you, for that matter.

What you think is not representative of the global reality, is it?

BTW - I can think of many people that I (personally) think are famous long before the Queen jumps into my mind

Obama is considered far more famous already.

He's swanned off.

But not one of them will be more recognisable than the Queen.

That's a good joke. You should become a stand-up comedian.
