...Groups complaining about the brand name in 3...2...1

Two years ago, Polaris Industries Inc. (NYSE: PII) acquired the oldest U.S. motorcycle brand, Indian. The goal? Restore Indian to its pre-World War II glory days, when the Indian Chief and Indian Scout (both highly collectible today) traversed America’s roads.

Based in Medina, Minn., Polaris (which had revenues of $3.2 billion in 2012) owns Victory Motorcycles and designs and manufactures snowmobiles, ATVs and hybrid vehicles. Its first new bike, the 2014 Indian Chief, debuted this month at the famed Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in South Dakota. Here, Polaris CEO Scott Wine discusses his company’s resurrection of the famed brand.

What joke and an insult to enthusiasts.

Who knows petros. Maybe the new company will be able to provide parts for your old Indian Chief. On the other hand the old Indians still in existance will suffer a bit because they will no longer be orphans.

8O.........The old Triumph ?? which was geared low for the army, (kind of a greeny-brown colour) and deposited me and my crazy cousin into a cedar rail fence was kind of fun too. Last run around the cow pasture I told the silly ****er to slow down............we did. He was trying to emulate Steve McQueen escaping from the Germans. With about as much luck.

Motorcycles have always scared me, even before that great adventure.

But good luck to you Indian lovers............mean that in the nicest possible way.
