Why do you call me princess Tecumseh? Do you mean that as an insult? If so, you have just told me how much my prior posts have reached you emotionally.

Tecumseh is one of the great heroes of the war of 1812 and the on line Shawnee Prophet meant 'Prince'- but he has to translate in his head form Injun lingo...
But the Thread topic is 'who won the war of 1812?
Don't distract us...

In-fighting, bickering and p e n i s fencing amongst the allied side is retarded.

I'm pretty certain than anyone liberated by any force back in the day didn't really care who they were, regardless of whether they were portrayed as the brave British or heroic yanks. Propaganda, history slants and hollywoodisms will usually distort what really happened anywhere.

As to the Ortona discussion... The Canadians faced the elite German First Parachute division in likely the toughest urban warfare of the Italian campaign... ultimately taking the town over Christmas in 1943, sustaining 1375 dead. And continued fighting through the Battle of Montecassino to the outskirts of Rome. Once that road was cleared American General Mark Clark (amongst the most mediocre of all allied general officers) removed the Canadian Divisions to give American Forces uncontested entry into the city before jubilant citizens.. and full glory and bragging rights to liberating the city. The Canadian troops moved through about midnight on deserted streets to their next fight againt ferocious and fanatical German opposition on the Gothic Line.

Americans that were living in Upper Canada won a damn big victory over their friends and family from Verrmot and were the first to call themselves Canadians.

This is just partisan hooey.

Waited 18 months? 18 months after what?

The United Nations had nothing to do with the Coalition. It was a US-arranged "Coalition of the Willing."

And Obama ignoring the UN? Come on--give me a break. The radical right has nothing but contempt for the UN. Now, all of a sudden, they're legitimate to you? You're not fooling anyone.

Also, it's worth mentioning that both Republicans and Democrats broadly backed the invasion and occupation of Iraq. In the case of Syria, polls show Republicans and Democrats broadly opposed to military action.

Let's just do a quick review of America at war...

The War on Terror - ongoing with no clear objective and no progress so US is losing

Afghanistan - objectives not completed so US lost

Iraq - objectives not completed so US lost

Gulf war - Coalition victory.

Vietnam - US lost badly

Korea - Stalemate so not a win

WW2 - Allied victory. Contrary to US history books that say the US won by itself.

WW1 - Didn't even get involved until 1917 when the war was pretty much won by the allies.

So other than winning with help and beating up a few banana republics with less military might than a girl scout troop the US war record in the 20th century is quite dismal. In the 1800's most of the recorded 'victories' were against first nations tribes who were using spears and bows against rifles and cannons.

Face it Eagle, the factual US history of war is an abysmal disappointment. ;-)

This will be a good place to put the "combat tested' signature on some fancy schmancy doodads and doohickeys.

We'll see how well the new Israeli/Russia satellite does on guiding S300s and Israeli and Russian UAVs.

Who will win the Battle Royale?

Team Israeli Foreign National Russian Oligarch or Team Saudi/Qatari armed and funded so called rebels?

This is better than any tractor pull.

Nice revisionism! The only one were I have to agree was Vietnam.

Your others are much too moronic.

For example... Afghanistan, you say US lost but it is a coalition. Desert Storm you call it a coalition victory. See the hypocrisy in that? If you want to say the US lost in Afghanistan then Canada has lost as well.

And Iraq Part 2... The US had a coalition there... totally routed the Iraqi Army... Hussein found himself at the end of a rope as well as many of his henchmen ... a government was installed with US approval... the insurgency was finished... the US left at the request of the new Iraqi government. I know it must have hurt to see a US win there.

WWII... what a complete asinine statement... according to US History books the US claims to have won the whole war by itself. So you have no facts so you just make it up? FAIL

WWI... The French-English were bled white... the US turned the tide.

Korea... N. Korea invades... the US chases them all the way to China... China enters the war... the US stops them and holds them at the DMZ. N. Korea fails... US wins!

And your ignorance shows again with the American Indian Wars... Spears and Bows? American Indians picked up the rifle as soon as the tech was available.

You FAIL... I WIN!

USA! USA! USA!

Obama links Syria response to same criteria /threat from Iran - N Korea.
Ah memories of Bush/Cheney float to the top.

Obama fuked up during the Civil War now he has to do something. He boxed himself in.
Putin deploys additional symbolic gestures to the Mediterranean | National Post

But the Russian leader is certainly putting on a good show. As American naval forces stationed in the eastern Mediterranean have taken up positions within cruise missile range of targets deep inside Syria, Russia’s navy has responded. The Russians have long operated a naval base in Syria, going back deep into the Cold War, and Russia has recently deployed additional ships, including combat vessels and troop ships, from its Black Sea squadrons. Russia is clearly sending a message to Washington.

And Washington should send a clear message back: We don’t care.

Syria strikes as much about Iran and North Korea as Assad, Obama administration says | National Post

WASHINGTON — In declaring Syria a national security threat, President Barack Obama is warning as much about the leaders of Iran and North Korea as about Bashar Assad.

And administration officials say America’s credibility with those countries will be an immediate casualty if the U.S. fails to respond to Syria now with military action.

It’s a connection that’s not immediately clear to most Americans – especially after the White House refused to send military support earlier in the Syrian war.

Following an Aug. 21 chemical weapons attack outside Damascus, the White House declared Syria’s civil war a top risk to American interests. The administration says that attack killed 1,429. Other estimates are lower.

The war, now in its third year, has so far killed more than 100,000 people.

Obama pressed skeptical lawmakers to give him the authority to use U.S. military force against Syria during his overseas trip while the administration struggled to rally international support for intervention in an intractable civil war.

Obama was making calls to members of Congress while he attends an economic summit in St. Petersburg, Russia, Ben Rhodes, Obama’s deputy national security adviser, told reporters on Thursday. The president spoke to a bipartisan group of five lawmakers on Wednesday.

What I love about life is how unporedicatble everything is. I mean if I went back in time a few scant years and said "In my time, Vladamir Putin is more popular with the American political right than the Presient of the United States" they would have looked at me like I was crazy.
