Source: Terrorists behind embassy threat in place - CBS News

The terror threat prompting the U.S. government to close nearly two dozen embassies and consulates Sunday is the most specific, credible threat information in years, CBS News senior correspondent John Miller reports.
lol "Intelligence officers have reporting from a reliable source that a major plot is under way and that the team to carry it out has been selected and is in place, Miller reports." And we all know if anyone knows what they are talking about, it's "intelligence officers" and they ALWAYS are dead accurate and never use misinformation and disinformation.
So, if "What authorities don't have is the date, the timing or the target of the attack, which is why they have taken such an approach to warning potential targets, Miller reports." is true, then are they going to close all subways, business buildings, gov't buildings, stockmarket exchanges, etc. (ad infinitum) indefinitely? "Hey, Ahmad, watch me look sideways at Jimmy and see his an al retention factor jump to infinity".

I doubt it will ever stop until drastic action is implemented.

Of course you have disregarded the law of probabilities.

I haven't disregarded squat. You want to live your life scared shytless of something that "may" happen....go for it. I'd rather not live that way, and I would rather my Country didn't follow suit with the american stupidity.

LOL that reminds me of a fella that moved from Vancouver to Mississauga because he was worried about the "BIG ONE" hitting Vancouver..

When I lived in Los Angeles, I slept though most of the earthquakes and was always disappointed to find out the next morning that I missed the fun.

I been in a hurricane and witness 3 tornadoes. Still here.

I'm afraid y'all are not taking this seriously.

There, I changed the colour for the sarcastically challenged.

Gerry I do not live scared. I have been in to many situations to live that way.
If you cannot come up with something better. Perhaps put more thought into it.

why should I come up with something better? The west is giving a criminal organization far more credit then they should and they have from day one.

On Closed Embassies, the Worldwide Travel Alert, and Wimpitude

Daniel Pipes;
Don't know about you, but I find this pre-emptive cringing unworthy of a great country, even humiliating. Why do we allow a bunch of extremist thugs to close us down, rather than the reverse? For what purpose do we pay for the world's best military and largest intelligence services if not to protect ourselves from this sort of threat?
Via Wretchard - "This is global "shelter in place". If they can't use the interval to catch the perps the AQ can create a tremendous amount of economic damage simply by being a threat-in-being."

I question the timing.

Obama Refuses to Talk to America About Terror Threat

President Obama continues to say nothing to a jittery nation about what some who have been briefed on the danger are describing as the worst terrorist threat since 9/11, declining to either offer reassurance or an explanation of the peril the nation faces.

Certainly, the president does not want to take questions about a threat he had minimized during the 2012 campaign. But what’s striking is that he has not addressed the nation in a formal manner on the potential for a major attack.

Incredibly, the first question Obama might take on the situation could come from a comedian.

par for the douchey-narcissistic course
