Karrie, you are way out of your area of expertise here........

Not all guards are uniformed. Floor walkers, for instance, are not, and follow people every day. I only WISH they were all trained, here in NB there is no requirement for training. In Canada, guards ONLY have to identify themselves in the process of arresting someone.

Guards have no more authority than any other person,. they can only do citizen's arrests, just like you can......

Yeah I'm familiar with plain clothes guards in stores, where you expect to be watched. Which communities use plain clothes security guards to patrol their streets? I'm curious if you'd put up with security guards treating your family like Zimmerman treated Martin. I know that being in the security business you probably have a certain amount of empathy for Zimmerman. But I think it's clouding your vision. He followed a teenage boy home. That's a danger. That's the kind of danger that's beaten into the heads of women, children, and men everywhere, to fight back against. Do NOT allow a stranger to follow you to your front door.

Defending himself?

Someone follows you to your home, you fight for your safety, and THEY'RE the ones who are 'defending themselves'? No... that's not the way it works, sorry.

Here we have to wear bright yellow vests and put COPP magnets on our vehicles.

Citizens on Patrol (COPP)

Members of your neighbourhood will be more visible while patrolling throughout Regina in an effort to prevent crime and help make our city as safe as possible. The Citizens on Patrol Program (COPP) is a community-based initiative supported by the Regina Police Service and sponsored by SGI.
COPP is a volunteer program through the Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association (CPAAA) that aims to help prevent crime in the community. The citizens on Patrol Program is made up of CPAAA members who organize themselves to patrol neighborhoods in their communities, providing additional “eyes and ears” for the Police and also providing a visible deterrent for crime. Typically, members of COPP are graduates of the Citizens Police Academy who receive additional training from the Regina Police Service and once trained, are assigned to patrol areas within their community.

COPP members will patrol either on foot, on bicycle or in a vehicle. While patrolling on foot or bicycle, members wear a reflective yellow vest. While driving, vehicles can be identified by a “Citizens on Patrol Program” magnetic sign.

Exactly petros.

Anywhere else in the world, creeping through a neighbourhood in plain clothes, packing a gun, following teenagers home who've done nothing wrong, is seen as threatening. They KNOW that, and they make sure their neighbourhood watch know it.

When was the last time a young child smashed your head into the pavement and how did you react?

Going by their thinking Charlie Mason should be a hero because Folgers coffee is disgusting and he did the world a favour.

When was the last time I a followed a kid home, beaked him off and provoked a fight? Never.

Ahh....according to all availible evidence, most of the "treating" was being performed by Martin on GZ....right up to the shot.

The idea that GZ ran Martin to ground and confronted him flies in the face of all the evidence.

So how exactly did they end up fighting Colpy? By keeping a distance and taking notes of activities?

He wasn't doing neighbourhood watch, he was a vigilante.

Martin followed Zimmerman?
