Here we go again with the usual suspects being all 'holier-than-thou' over the abortion issue. Well, unless you want the govt legislating your vasectomy or passing a law on the when, where, and how you have sex I think you all ought to just STFU!!!! Your religion and morality is not mine nor is it anyone else's so keep the f*ck out of other people's private lives before those people start getting into yours with whatever silly, oppressive law they can come up with.

I don't understand why it is so hard for people to comprehend....If you are against abortion then don't choose to have one for you or your spouse (although the men on here might be shocked to find out that their wife can have one without needing their permission or ever informing them at all). Nobody is going to force abortion upon those who are against the procedure so why is it that those who are against it want to force women to not have one if they deem that their best option and choose to terminate.

I say it is nothing more than sheer arrogance on the part of the anti crowd and it is about time they come down to reality before the pro-choice group pass a law requiring vice-grips attached to the genitalia of anyone who tries to tell us what we can do with our own bodies.

Nope.....I only "hate" idiots.... I don't care if they SAY they are male or female.

too slow on the edit....if you're not willing to leave it out there.... then don't post it to begin with.... case in point when talking about idiots.
hon you are as thick as a brick and not as useful, so there is little to no point in engaging you. Being insulted by someone who functions at your level is equivalent to a compliment... apologies for the edit but you are simply not worth the finger movement. Thanks for the reddie and have a wonderful evening.

In Canada we have omnibus bills that include all kinds of issues and link them
into one document and vote on them. Yup its a standard fair for social conservative.

When it comes to the murder of our young, I will not keep my mouth shut. I don't care how arrogant or ignorant you are, I will not be silenced. The only way to shut me up is to kill me too.

often the people who are against abortion are also against birth control

and social assistance for single mums

This got a red because of the ignorant comment concerning birth control and social assistance.

The once that are "thick as a brick" are those that continue to justify the murder of countless baby's every year.

I'm more concerned with the life that is being needlessly taken.
It ain't your life....you should just be happy with that!
It's only bullshyte because you can't dispute or justify it.
I can dispute your right to tell anyone else what to do with their body endlessly. Problem is the 'devout' like yourself have no interest in listening to any kind of reason, you just want to force others to live by your level of morality and that is pure arrogance. Last time I checked that was one of the seven that guaranteed your one-way trip to hell.
and I also love how the baby murdering scum try to equate pro life with hating women.
I don't think you hate women, I think you hate yourself, that is why you want everyone else to conform to your idea of how we should live.

They are not 'your' young. They have nothing to do with you at all. When will you realize that. You are putting your nose where it doesn't belong and if it were me I would cut it off and feed it back to you. The option of killing you Gerry, while enticing, is not one I would pursue. I would much rather get legislation against religions passed so as to stop the spread of the viral blight on humanity that is the 'religious right wing' and, well, any organized religion at all. The world would be a much better and more peaceful place without all of it.

In the USA a significant portion of abortions are performed solely for convenience and as a form of contraception for people who are too lazy or too stupid to use contraceptives.

Is abortion for convenience ok with you folks?
From Sleepy's link of facts on abortion:

"On average, women give at least 3 reasons for choosing abortion: 3/4 say that having a baby would interfere with work, school or other responsibilities;
about 3/4 say they cannot afford a child;
1/2 say they do not want to be a single parent or are having problems with their husband or partner (AGI).
Only 12% of women included a physical problem with their health among reasons for having an abortion (NAF).
1% reported that they were the survivors of rape (NAF)."

Didja get that? 3/4 say they can't afford a kid? That's a matter of convenience to you?
Half say they don't want to be a single parent. Considering how tough a go it is being a single parent, to you that's a matter of convenience? 12% have health concerns. That's about convenience?
I'm guessing that you consider not being wealthy enough to feed yourself and a kid is a mere inconvenience and that not getting along with a mate is a mere inconvenience.

I have a suggestion; how about you putting a cork in your self-righteous, "moral" blowhole and while you're at it, take your head out of there before you suffocate.

I heard an interview with an abortion doctor in New York (I believe) a few years back. He noticed a disproportionate number of his regular patients were Catholic. Curious, he started asking them why they had abortions when it was considered a major sin in their religion. The answer he got surprised him. They said that birth control was also a sin. If they took the pill, that amounted to about 24 or more sins a month while, having an abortion every few months or so only amounted to 2 or 3 sins a year. Besides, they just had to go to confession and the slate was wiped clean.

Dipping into Sleepy's link of facts again: "28% of women who have abortions say they are Catholic". It's perfectly logical to see why Christian Catholics want to limit their rate of "sinning".
You have evidence contrary to that, Walnut? Or evidence suggesting Cliff is telling tales?

How did I know you were going to say something like that? As my pappy used to say, "what did you last slave die of?"

I heard it on the radio 20 years or so ago, so finding that particular interview may be difficult but if you look at the logic of what he said, it makes sense. Having been raised Catholic in the 50s and 60s, I saw a lot of people who thought like that. As I said to a Catholic friend of mine a while back, "If you don't like abortions, don't have one. What others do is not your concern. It is between them and their god."

Dipping into Sleepy's link of facts again: "28% of women who have abortions say they are Catholic". It's perfectly logical to see why Christian Catholics want to limit their rate of "sinning".
28% overall, but go to a predominantly Catholic city or state and the numbers go up considerably.

The Catholic church does frown upon contraception...or at least certain "types" of contraception.

The only acceptable ones are the rhythm method or abstinence. As I also told my Catholic friend, "You can't do the rhythm method." He asked why not. I said, "cuz waht man ain't got no riddum." (septin' me. I gots riddum.)
