In fact abortions in those circumstances were NEVER illegal......
So get real Karrie. You know pro-life advocates would support a return to laws as they existed when this was one of the few legitimate reasons for abortion (not speaking of its morality). That reduces your argument to zero.
So, you admit, an abortion is a medical procedure.
My argument isn't what you think it is, all I was arguing was your assertion that it's not a 'medical procedure'.
Coldstream, I have a question for you.
A friend of mine has a son who is autistic. At 18 he is still in diapers. He can not be left alone, he becomes agitated and quite violent at times. My friend's husband has had to take early retirement as my girlfriend has been diagnosed with parkinsons and cannot handle her son alone. Her husband has already had one stroke.
The government gives them thousands of dollars in aid but because of his extreme needs they are thousands and thousands of dollars in debt. They have no life and have never had a life. Most couples would not have made it together but they have. I would have killed myself rather than live the type of life they live.
Is this okay with you...sanctity of life for what? I am truly curious to hear the right to lifers answers. I will also respect your thoughts and will not attack your answer I just want to hear your justification at the destruction and misery caused by such a situation.
In the same spirit of non-attack, I have to say, I will make a couple quick points but please know I've had a very long, taxing day if my points come off short, that's why....
I don't get how this relates to the abortion discussion, since the only solution to their problem is actually euthenasia. There is no prenatal test, as far as I know, that can tell you if your kid will be autistic.
And if there were, there are so many degrees of autism.
And I'd be curious to hear her views on your bringing her son up as a candidate for abortion.
