Of the two of us I think I'm more likely to be found reasonably well adjusted to reality such as is widely understood in the broader world. You should stop taking the isreali ecstacy for a while.

You might be reading too much into Hawking's position here.... I'll go out on a limb and suggest that he's boycotting the conference because he has taken offense to Israel prohibiting the importation of electric wheel chair batteries into Palestine.
I'm guessing that the issue is just that simple.

The Israeli and Palestinian spin machines are on full spin cycle right now. It is clearly a matter of enormous international significance. Two days from now, it'll be back to business as usual.
Right up there for the world's stupidest post. I have a son who is a working physicist. Hawking has been one of his heroes. I read everything I can about Hawking and I don't think he is a man who hates anyone. The real Jew haters are taxslave and people of his ilk who spread obvious BS about a man like Hawking who they know nothing about.

I think Hawking is a genius who would like to see peace and does not want to support further conflict. I do not for one moment believe he hates Jews. Just because one does not support someone's actions does not mean they hate them. Parents do not support lots that their kids do but they still love them.

Whether one supports Hawking's decision or not, an act of conscience in support of a beleaguered people is not an act of hatred. In fact, it is the opposite.
WE all know the dim rodent is a jew hater so by extension his heros must be as well. In the case of Israel there can be no grey areas. Either one supports the existence of Israel or one supports muslim fanatics destroying a country based on religion.
If Hawking is apolitical as Juan is claiming he would go to the conference to prove it is NOT about politics but about science.
There are Palestinian babies dying, people displaced. I support the existence of Israel but I do not support the death of innocents ever. Nothing in my world is black and white. I grieve for both sides. Palestinian does not equal Muslim Fanatic.
And I would further add, if things are black and white then most certainly Hawking can not go as those who view the world in black and white would interpret it so. Perhaps he recognizes that.
The application of religion to dehumanize or subjugate another people indistinguisible from yourself cannot in any way be thought of as carrying out the will of God. This travesty is true of both sides in this sad conflict. Each side appeals to "holy" books written neither for our time nor our salvation.
Is that the best you can do taxslave? Truck out the old "you're with us or with the enemy" nonsense. If we don't approve every move by Israel, we must hate them? Talk about a dim rodent........:roll:
