I was just wondering where you gained the insight and wisdom to say whether Indians face obstacles or not.
Some jerk invades your house and makes up rules for living there that you don't understand, forces you to speak another language, chucks out all the stuff you were comfortable with, then forces you to live in the garage, limits you to only one store to get your groceries from, etc. etc. and you say there aren't more obstacles?

I don't pretend to understand all the problems faced by Aboriginal peoples, and I don't understand
all of their ways. I do have some understanding though and I have taken the time to learn some as
well. You see we have an adopted daughter who is native and she now has her status as well. But
of course we didn't adopt her to be a native or a white person we adopted her because we loved her.
We set out to raise her to be the best person she could be. More important we also insisted that she
learn both cultures so she would not be ignorant of either. That way should could equip herself with
the skills to compete in society.
We have three grand daughters who are growing up with a well rounded education learning both ways.
The oldest is going to Mount Royal in Alberta for continuing education this fall and the other two are
doing well in school. Just thought a couple of you might like to know there are hundreds just like her
wonderful people and if you got to actually know them and learned about something other than a
personal bias as to who is good and bad and not up to your standard, you just might even learn a few
things from them I guess not some generalizations are all that's needed to form a well rounded opinion

"Indians" are just like everybody else. We all face obstacles. Claiming your race, religion, heritage, height, hair colour or sex prevents you from doing what you choose to do is just being lazy. There is good money in it though, if you know how to use the system.
As it happens, my race doesn't prevent me from doing what I choose to do. But to deny that racial minorities and women face challenges in society that white men don't is. . . delusional.
