I have read his posts. He says many Brits see irony in the fact that Boston has felt the sting of terrorism given the fact that it was a hotbed of fundraising for the IRA. He is correct. If you or anybody else disagrees then yes, you are wrong.

He sees the bombing as payback. Do you?

That's not what he said. Why do you have to put words in his mouth? Can't you just argue the points he has made....or have you finally realized that you can't really argue his points because he is right?

I actually agree with Cannuck here. Blackleaf hasn't said what he's being accused of. It may be harsh a little tacky, maybe even a little ugly, but that seems to be OK when one of his attackers does it...

Seriously? You feel glee over the deaths of three people and wounding of more than 100 because some of the IRA's funding came from Boston?

You are one sick motherhumper. Bet the Shankill Butchers just got your little wiener hard, didn't they?

So am I. I repeat, you're a sick motherhumper. How do you feel about Liverpool? A lot of the IRA's funding came from there too.

Hey, I'm perfectly cool with the country that burned the White House getting fu*ked up by anybody who feels like doing it. . . Irish, Muslims, Germans, whatever.

England had it coming.

Not entirely. You are carefully avoiding telling the truth that you, personally, are delighted.

Hardly surprising. This is the sort of decency we've learned to expect from the English.

The jealousy of the client states, Eagle. Comes with the territory when you're a power. Especially from the client states that used to be powers.

I'm not sure such a limp-wristed English punch deserves the term "lashing." And no, not really. I think he's limping out because he lives in a has-been country dominated by its ex-colonies and France and Germany.

Mags had the last pair of intact testicles south of Hadrian's Wall. Now that she's gone, the highest English virtue is impotent spite.
Ummm...

True, Blackleaf didn't actually post that he found the irony to be apt, but judging from his past posts, he's not above being tickled pink by it.

You better not be implying he was gleeful about this. Oh wait, glee was actually one of the words he used when hiding behind the term 'many Brits', before admitting he's one of said Brits.

Northern Ontario,
At one end of the scale of Irony is situational Irony......and the other end is sarcasm ...
Where would one put BL's original statement, before everybody got all hot under the collar?

He may be a bit sheepish now that I've pointed out that the Brits basically bullied their way into claiming all the real estate in the isles till they got the Micks all pissed off at them.

They treated Irish Catholics about 2 steps above slavery.

Of course he is...

The heartless people are the Bostonians who funded terrorism.

Now they know what it feels like.

This is what he was getting at the whole time and finally it was flushed out of him.

That statement has a qualifier.

I cut and pasted the whole statement Bear.

Can anyone tell me what I'm saying wrong?

The fact that Boston, the headquarters of NORAID, an IRA fundraising organisation, suffers not only a terrorist attack but one which has IRA hallmarks is deeply ironic and whilst this irony is obviously lost on North Americans - as this thread shows - it isn't lost on Britons.

And I was offended by Boston raising money for the IRA.

But I will say again: The fact that Boston, the headquarters of IRA fundraising organisation NORAID, suffers not only a terrorist attack but one which has the hallmarks of the IRA (bombs in litter bins, etc) is deeply ironic and deeply uncanny.

.

Not seeing how he is differentiating. Well.. he is not.

Besides.. you KNOW he is loving it. You KNOW he is Bear.
