And I'm still fascinated by the obsession of the RC Church haters with the Papacy while as a R.C. the only thing I have had an interest i is that there could be a small chance that a Canadian could become Pope.......simply because it is in Canadian news so much.
Otherwise....the mental con torsions that the usual suspects go through with this religion in particular is just simply "interesting" to a "people watcher":lol:

I'd put Card. Ouellet's chances at better than small. But less that of Angelo Scola, Archbishop of Milan the reputed front runner. Other possibilities are Christoph Schonborn of Vienna, Sean O'Malley of Boston (and a Capuchin Monk.. it's been centuries since a monk has been Pope), Odilio Scherer of Sao Paulo..

All have specific competencies.. but ALL are very closely alligned with Pope Benedict.. through his theologically conservative journal Communio for some or other common projects. The difference would be in style and priority.. not in substance. We are still going to have a very orthodox Holy Father.

Somebody from South America will be Pope.

He was born in Africa. OK he wasn't. You had inside information. How much was the bet anyway?

"Bergoglio may be basically conservative on many issues, but he's no defender of clerical privilege, or insensitive to pastoral realities. In September 2012, he delivered a blistering attack on priests who refuse to baptize children born out of wedlock, calling it a form of 'rigorous and hypocritical neo-clericalism.'"

Prayer of Saint Francis of Assisi

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace.
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury,pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
and where there is sadness, joy.

O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek
to be consoled as to console;
to be understood as to understand;
to be loved as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive;
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life. Amen

Why not, context is important.

More context
"Go, Francis, and repair my Church in ruins" are the fabled words of Christ to St. Francis as recounted by Benedict XVI.
