Well gee, if you're calling Petros a racist, I have to ask, who's the other one? Because so far your observation skills are not dazzling.

"discriminately" challenged!-:)

How very P.C. of you, lol.

Doesn't someone need to take part in a debate before one can be said to be losing it? lol.

Anyway, I have no problem with someone quoting something that they deem to be racist and stating so, but, even though racist is the very last moniker I'd ever throw on Petros, I went back and read the original post (that was quoted) for context. I can't see where it would even be misconstrued as racist, lol. So that naturally leads me to ask, who would be the other one of "the two of you are both racist" that's being referred to.

I'm just curious by nature. :D

Well, when that person doesn't have any input or argument to start with, it's easier to play the race card to stimie any alternate views

Buddy has an agenda and unless you walk lock-step with his/her ideals, well, then you are racist.

I'm just curious by nature. :D

The two of you are both racists. And also calling The aboriginal peoples "Indians" is HIGHLY insulting. They are not from India. Morons!
I work with aboriginal people all the time. Many refer to themselves as Indians and don't mind being called Indian. Some prefer aboriginal or indigenous, but some don't like first nations because it has no legal standing in international law. One chief told me that the government made it up to further denigrate his people. I use all of the other three and never use first nations. To me it just too vague. Most US Indians I know prefer Indian.

I knew two. One guy I worked with and a Navy Corpsman that was in my platoon. They did not like being called Indian. I just called one Dave and the other Doc.

Well I've never encountered Buddy before so I had to ask. There are a plethora of people who feel if you don't walk lock-step with their ideals you are a racist or a moron or evil, lol. I do appreciate the that irony that wingnuts on either side of any spectrum are always the first ones to cry out that everyone else is a wingnut, lol.

I'm equally open to all breakfast foods.

I think it's just common sense to, whenever possible, simply defer to the party that you're engaging with. But at the same time, people have to look past the terminology. Some of the most racist garbage I've ever heard in my life has been eloquently stated, it's really all about the context.

Indians in Canada are not "nations," they get their money from taxpayers, they are now part of Canada. Indian "nations" get free use of Canada's courts. The legal system is not free, judges want fat salaries, over $10,000 a month. If Indians were actual nations, they would have have to pay for all court costs and they don't. They get to have their legal cake and they eat it too. Nice. Taxpayers just pay and pay. Politicians just sit on their hands. The premise here is false because there is no aboriginal title any longer.

The land in dispute is called Canada. Giving Indians additional rights that other citizens do not have is wrong. It's corruption. It violates democracy and equality rights that have been hard fought to achieve. Why be like Haiti, Bolivia or Iran? Where traditional rights in land impede development and create conflict.

The Proclamation of 1763 did not mention BC, zinc, pipelines, Alberta and a thousand other things, yet somehow it includes them all. The honour of the crown, more like cash from the crown. You cannot be traditional with modern technology, those days are long over.
Ah, Dumpy's monthly diss-the-abos-cuz-they-should-be-just-like-us-and-aren't rant.
Seriously, haven't the Europeans and their descendants done a grand job so far? People cannot get enough to eat, yet Canada produces vast quantities of food; people living in the streets and under bridges, yet there's plenty of accommodation available; ridiculous crime stats; slezy con artists and crooks for politicians; polluted planet; companies drugging us; companies engineering crap disguised as food that they think we should eat; a "comprehensive" medical system that isn't so comprehensive; courts that next to crucify people for a bag of pot yet give really nasty criminals light sentences; educational systems that can't even teach people to do simple arithmetic in their heads or spell simple words correctly after over a decade of classes; and on and on and on. Yep "they" should be just like "us".
Your "thoughts" are typically f'n pathetic.

For some, unless you agree with the status quo, you're a racist. So narrowminded. Indians need development and bill C-45 will provide a start. Some bands want a chance for opportunity and change. The closed system needs to be opened up.
You've been shown a few examples of native advancements, but as usual, you ignore them and keep posting your mindless drivel.

All bills have a period for public or stakeholders to voice concerns.
Unfortunately, we don't all have the means or the ambition to acquire lawyers to translate the political nonsense into lucid language for us.

Some report put out by Cda Corrections saying there are even more Indians in jail, many many more over the past 10 years. Yawn.

As long as the chiefs and lawyers get their dough, the $10 billion the fed govt doles out, no worries. The fed govt keeps the chiefs rich and the rank and file poor. Poverty in Canada equals crime and low education.
Yep, just like the rest of "society". The rich get richer, the rest of us work our azzes off and the politicians and bureaucrats just keep the whole process going.

======================

Time to stop the flow of cash to corrupt people.
That is something I can agree with, and we can start with cutting off the pork barrelers in Ottawa and other places.

The fact remains if the Treaties had to be signed this day and age the mineral rights would not be given away, now it is either strip those rights away through manipulation of the courts or have to give them 'fair compensation' and that is more than the 'shareholders' of bigoil are willing to pay, so criminal methods are used to achieve what they want.. If China was to purchase goods from northern Alberta they need pipe, rail and truck routes to the coast someplace around Stewart. These days they drill tunnels through mountains don't they.

Read some of the treaties. From some that I have seen, the Crown did recognize mineral rights directly in the documents
