Two thoughts,A,how long before there's some kind of device to warn stupid people of that kind of impending danger ?Cars already do too much that allows retards to drive. And 2,how long before some goomer tries sueing CP,? It's not at all far fetched, all you need is a sharp lawyer and a stupid judge.

Just read the comments at the bottom of the LINK in the OP:

If its a parking lot where they charge you to park, there could be some guidance to
where the parking area is. The snow made it impossible to see track. Everything was
full last night. Always so easy to call people names, fact is there is not enough
parking downtown for the arena.

Whoops! And the last line from the O.P. LINK:

The collision occurred at the east end of the CP lot across from the Samaritan Centre.
The property is owned by CP but leased to the city, which operates the parking lot.

Snow or not, at least 20 trains a day pass the station they've parked near. It's not like there haven't been enough car/pedestrian vs train incidents in Sudbury to make news

The best comment is this one.

Two blondes were driving through the lot and they came
to some tracks.

The first blonde said: "These look like a bike lane."

And the other one said: "No they look like wheelchair rails."

They argued and argued for a while and they were still arguing
when the train hit them.

the third was able to be driven away.
And that is what passes for literate news in Canada's north.

Is transit not an option in these hick towns?
It all depends-one year Sudbury transit management forgot to renew their licence plates so the then Mayor had plates taken off municipal trucks and slapped on busses so they would be legally on the road-I'm not making this up.

Explain how a plate from one vehicle makes another legal for the road. *snif-snif* Is your septic tank backed up, Billy?

BTW.... You're father NORTH than Sudbury

I wondered about that. Even in BC you usually have to be above 55 to be concidered North. Except for the Island which runs more east-west than north -south but is still called North Island and south island

You should have asked the stupid basturd who was Mayor @ the time-this was in the early 70's when I was living/working in Levack.

It was before Macleans magazine did it's famous article about Sudbury being 'The Ashole of Canada' and Yes that was on the front cover except they used two SS's.

Boy did the local yokels lose it over that even though they knew full well it was true-as does anyone who's ever been there.

And Prince George is the Ashole of BC.

Speaking of government stupidity, BC's ex Socred government tried to make seat belts mandatory on motorcycles back in the seventies. So nobody is immune to bureaucratic idiocy.

Not arguing if it happened. Sudz has been known to pull the odd shenanigan. I'm asking you how they would be legally on the road with plates taken off municipal trucks and slapped on busses. Plates aren't the same for trucks and busses.

If you're going to be picky, check your own end first....
