RCMP is contracted by municpalities and they charge a fee to the municpality which is part of property taxes, it's not a provided service.

Meatwagons, Drs, hospitals are businesses that bill for their services just like the RCMP does.

Still all paid for with tax dollars.

Not on a National scale

Meatwagons cost the user around $350 a run. You're better off taking a taxi and ER pays them by voucher.

They cost 125 I think here if you're in province, unless you're on welfare then it's paid for you.

They used to have it as a free service, but the province lost too much revenue and too many abused it that they started making it cost again.

I mean, unless you're 90 and can't move, there's no reason to call the ambulance for a cold you've had for a month. Or that you cut your finger. Or a headache.

If somebody calls one for you, you're stuck paying even though it wasn't you who had hired them.

I'm cheap, even if i were bleeding out I'd still take the taxi. The Punjabi hip-hop they play while driving has a cool groove and would take my mind off of death more so than sirens.

$ 45. here. I think free if your income is low enough. Course we also pay $106 or so for our free medical.

It runs $45 here too. $120 for patient transport. Should be the other way around in my opinion.

If you call the paramedics but decline to go to hospital-no charge. If you actually require medical care and go to hospital-they bill you.

Also something that should be the other way around.
