Pretty well anywhere in B.C. is excellent with perhaps the exception of the lower mainland. If you are into the outdoors it's pretty hard to beat the Chilcotin, the Cariboo or the area up around Babine Lake. The John Hart Hwy. between Prince George and Chetwynd is a must see.
The best places in BC are the ones where tourists don't go.

..looking for the best places in each province that is a must to visit ...
Depends what you're interested in, where your home base is, and how far you're prepared to go. Every province I've ever visited, which is nine of them (never been to Newfoundland, but I hope to remedy that next summer), has places I'd consider "must see." Every province and territory has some sort of tourism bureau, with web sites, that's a good place to start, and you can also find guide books in any good book shop. You want spectacular scenery, wild places, historic places, architecture, theatre, music, clubs, restaurants, museums, art galleries, whatever, every province has them all in abundance. The northern territories are less developed, but if you like wilderness and scenery you can't go wrong driving the Canol Road. This is a prosperous and civilized place, anything you could possibly want is here somewhere.

My personal favourites, in no particular order: Cabot Trail, Vancouver Island, Vancouver, Montreal, Toronto, Ottawa (great city for museums and galleries, as befits a national capitol), Whitehorse, the Precambrian landscape of northern Saskatchewan (best fishing I've every enjoyed, and you can dip a cup over the side of the boat and drink the lake water), Lake of the Woods... ah the list is endless, I'll never get to see it all.

I'd have to say that one of the Prairie's best kept secrets is Cypress Interprovincial Park. It's flippin' gorgeous any time of year and sunny 90% of the time.
Yeah, I should have mentioned that one in my list of favourites too, but I guess I can't always remember everything. And then there's home of course, Regina, the Pearl of the Prairies.. :)

Ach, not really. Most people think the Rockies are that whole mess of mountains between Banff/Jasper and the Pacific, only someone who's studied geology knows different.

I should have mentioned Kelowna too, great scenery, beautiful lake, benign climate (at least compared to the praires), wineries... paradise.

Once upon a time I could rattle off the petrology of the Rockies, Bugaboos, Selkirks, Monashees, Purcells etc heading westward.

Vancouver Island
when I stand on the 11th tee off, and the 12th tee off area of our golf course, I can turn slowly

all the way round, and see the coast mountains across the other side of the georgia straits, keep

turning and see all of the beaufort mtn. range as well as the beautiful comox glacier, on the island,

360deg. of mountains, and we are tucked in between, in this big valley, very cosy and a great feeling of

security.

Also keeps the weather systems along the mountains much of the time, and not over us.

anyone travelling to the west coast, must come to vancouver island, or not, I like

it here in the winter,

after all of the tourists go home.

Ever been up to Oyama, Streak, Beaver and Dee Lakes up on the eastern plateau?

Not yet but I will. Are there camp grounds up there?

It's been almost 11 years since I was on the Island. How many wallets full of money are needed now to board a ferry? -:)

Shut the hell up!! We enjoy our peace and quiet and are trying to keep folks away. You just have to ruin everything!!

Kings Landing in New Brunswick was a great way to spend a day

Used to love heading to Kelowna/Penticton/Vernon... Beautiful area and they had Peachfest in the summer - lots of fun, before it turned into an orgy of drugs and violence.

Osoyoos is a little slice of heaven as well.

You just described some of the best heli-skiing locations on the globe

I suppose living in the area I should by rights be loyal to it by encouraging the tourist industry, but actually you have it pegged, Cap't. I vividly remember my first visit to Kelowna in 1959, a beautiful clean little city of about 8,000 consisting mainly of 3 or 4 blocks along the lake front. However within an hour or two of the Okanagan there are beautiful places, lots of lakes in the Princeton-Merritt area. East toward the Monashees is also good. Lumby is a nice little town (although I hear there are young hellians who raise sh*t)

Pretty much the cycle there... Once the place gains some popularity, all the assh*les decide to attend, run up the prices, litter the country side and play the role of the fool

Years ago the annual Kelowna Regatta was the biggest event (drunk) and it was fun, but eventually the A$$holes weren't satisfied with just getting drunk, but had to get in peoples' faces, destroy property, make a noise etc. until about 20 years ago when they cancelled it permanently.

It was almost $60 this spring for car and driver. It's probably double that by now.

Camping, cabins and a I believe there is a hotel at Beaver.

Why haven't you been up there yet? It's the only piece of the OK still tourist free.
