:pain10: Quite a crock, ain't it!!

We're in for another four years of campaigning by the uber right Tea Party types who probably had a lot to do with losing the election for the Repubs.

Glad they lost.

But, they won't shut up and go away.

I'm hoping we don't have to read about American politics on CC every day. Makes it less and less attractive to belong. Just sayin.

Agreed. The new post section has been spammed and filled with mostly US political crap by the same 2-3 members... Hardly any news from around the world These days, let alone from the actual country the forum name is about.

Maybe these forums should change its name to American Content..... If all I was interested in for a forum was all US related subjects, I've already got several other forums to go to.

I don't mind info and topics from the US being here of course, but it's been a little too much in the last couple of months and it's getting old.

Or consider all his other options??????

You think I already haven't? It'd explain why I'm not posting as much these days, because I'm spending more time elsewhere.

I've already started a few threads recently, they stay up for about 3 minutes and then get pushed back off the main page due to dozens of other US related political threads by the same group of members.... most of those threads have so much in common they should have been merged to clean things up a bit.

I don't see why I should have to attempt to out spam the spammers in order to try and counteract their spam..... it's not a very good example to lead by, or follow.

Northern Ontario,
Yeah there are a lot of multiples running too. Kind of frustrating.
It goes in cycles .......For a while it was 9/11 conspiracy threads, then global warming,....and we still have some members that seem to be interested only in Israel/Palestine threads....Then religion is another one...

People don't need to read them all....Frankly if something doesn't interest me I don't read it ...simple non?

I'll say this Karrie - I wish that even a small fraction of Canadians had as much passion for who was running our gvt.

Ah........but there is a fine line between passion and fanaticism, CP and in many people's minds the TP crossed that line long ago. Oh, and just because we Canadians aren't at each other's throats arguing about how we are governed or by whom we are governed, doesn't mean that we have no passion for it or our country.

Hell no. I'd prefer our nation was a nation and expected the government to represent us as such, and not as competitors. This election has conservatives actually talking about how they hope their country crashes and burns because they don't like the guy in power. And their fellow conservatives patting them on the back rather than standing up and saying something. Well **** that. I didn't vote for Harper but I hope to hell he runs this country well. My fellow Canadians hired him to do a job and I hope he does it even if he wasn't my choice. The fact that 'my guy' didn't get in doesn't negate my civic duty to be a proud Canadian, to stand by my neighbours, to do my part to make this nation a good one.

I have twenty times more passion about my country, than I do about my government, and I really fail to see that as a bad thing. The fact that the media has so effectively negated that passion in Americans throughout this election, is terrifying.

ROCK ON KARRIE! :salute::salute:

I always found it ironic their name of the country, the "UNITED States of America". There has never been a time throughout the country's history where were solidified with one another.

So sad, so true.

I'm more disturbed by the fact people on the Internet gave out somebody's home address.

Seriously. How the US doesn't fly to pieces when you all loathe one another so much is a mystery.
I know what you mean. We hate each other more than anything else on earth. No polity with such levels of internal division can survive in this form. The US will be transformed in some way that is harmful to the idea of political unity.

Don't worry...there's a foreign policy disaster out there waiting to wreck his second term. When it happens he and his supporters will own the crisis. But they'll be alone without solidarity.

It could.

Or as a friend commented over coffee today.... it could just be the death throes of entitled outrage that we're seeing.

I'm just saying that it is easy to take the democratic process and the free opportunity to vote for granted.

It will be interesting to hear the statistics on what % of the US population came out to vote

I wonder if we'll see the 'deal with it' style of attitude once the train-wreck happens. Methinks that there will be the hue and cry for 'we are all in this together' bullsh*t... Funny how attitudes change when someone gets in the soup, isn't it?

Yeah there are a lot of multiples running too. Kind of frustrating.

That's my only real gripe.... many of the topics could have easily been added or merged into existing threads just to simply clean up the main forum board a little. I never said people couldn't talk about certain things, go right ahead. But at least try to organize it a bit better and show some consideration for other members in here by not spamming the same stuff with slightly different wording.

So.... Your interests are not shared by everybody.............

Really??

Wow, I never knew that before. You changed my life

Absolutely, you're right, it does cycle. But after a certain point, regardless of the topic, it becomes 'spam like'.

I certainly agree that now the election is done and over the mods & Andem could merge/delete a whole host of threads related to it. Not that I would suggest they are doing their job wrong.

Assume for the sake of argument that you are correct. What do you expect? Docility? You should expect people moving down the food chain to be unwilling to cooperate. No?

Four more Americans died in Obama's lost war in Afghanistan. More Americans will die in that useless war for another two years while Obama laughs just as in your post. How many Canadians died in Obama's lost war?

I expect that you're right. Obama supporters want free stuff. When the free stuff runs out they will come looking for people like me so they can get more free stuff.

The problem is that they're not moving down. Others are simply moving up. God forbid the former 'second class vote' should carry sway. Minorities and women!? *gasp* Having their votes counted and actually making their voices heard? For shame! Why the next thing you know, gays will even have rights. Oh ****, they voted too.
