And you missed the point of my first post anyway. And that was that it's stupid to have dozens of threads all referring to the same topic.
If you don't like them, don't read them. I don't read most posts because my time on Earth is finite. Life is too short to dance with ugly women.

I don't read most of them,. It's just a pain scrolling through all the elections threads looking for threads that are interesting.
If you want to read about stuff that interests you, start a thread or two about those things. We've got a few posters who start many threads about stuff they like to discuss or to see how others react to those ideas.

OK- What do you think of how he goes by state polls- how the number turn- how he shows that state polls are more reliable than the national polls -I have read his posts and I have my opinion - take a look - tear it apart.

The very first statement made in the article casts serious doubt on the credibility of the author:

"President Obama is now better than a 4-in-5 favorite to win the Electoral College"

I could not tell you who is going to win, but it will be close... Projecting a 4 in 5 winner right now doesn't suggest a close race

All the national polls that the news orgs are playing up is total national votes because it makes a person want to read it- Not the polling done in the swing states that are crucial.

I have gone thru a number of sites and they show Obama with leads in these states. They also show a number of different orgs doing the polling- when 8 out of 10 polls show a certain candidate has the lead - over an extended period of time for that State- Tells me they are all showing the same thing.

Fox News is NOT saying that the votes have been counted. They say that more Republicans have voted, than Democrats have. That is fact, BUT, there is no guarantee that Republicans always vote for Republicans (I vote for the person, NOT the party myself), or that Democrats always vote for Democrats.

In actual fact, no votes CAN be counted until election day, and some states (including Ohio) do not count absentee ballots until a day or two AFTER the election.

Better read up again about the US election system, before you make a fool of yourself again.

There are certain posters here who's posts I do not read and certain topics which I have never visited. I highly doubt either would have illuminated my world.

Then you do not know what you missed. Ugly is perception. The comparison itself is ugly to say the least.

I have a question for our American friends regarding the tie. Are the senate & Congress required to pick the president and VP from the candidates or can they select anyone?

I may be wrong about this, Nick, but even if one of the candidates running wins the election, he is still not necessarily going to be the President. Hard to believe but I'm sure I have heard that. Makes no sense to me. DamnGrumpy??????????

There were rumblings in 2000 about electoral college members voting against the voters in their state in order to elect Gore to the presidency and I believe they can but I can't remember.

Regardless, it's seems like a screwed up system.

Colorado Early Voting: Republicans Lead By 2%…

Keep in mind Obama crushed McCain by nine points in Colorado.
DENVER — Roughly 1.8 million Coloradans have already voted in the election that concludes Tuesday, according to new numbers from the Colorado Secretary of State’s office.

Republicans continue to hold a slight edge over Democrats in the number of total ballots turned in, but that advantage continues to shrink gradually, more evidence that Colorado is shaping up to be one of the closest swing states on the board.

As of Monday, 624,778 registered Republicans have returned ballots; 590,417 registered Democrats have sent in their ballots, as have 474,437 registered unaffiliated voters.

Republicans have been confident, given their improvement in early voting numbers from four years ago, when Obama crushed Sen. John McCain and went on to win Colorado by nine points, despite McCain winning more voters on Election Day itself.

Republicans are also leading early voting in Colorado’s key swing counties: Jefferson, Arapahoe and Larimer.
