God does not follow the first principle of morality. Why not?

The concept of God is the attempt at one of the first government regulations of society.
What if no one believed in God or some concept of an all powerful God figure that indeed
can punish in the afterlife? We would not be safe in our beds because the real bad people
would be really bad.
Egypt, Canada, Ancient Rome, you name it, they sometimes changed Gods but they all had
a God figure head to control the masses. Some societies have changed others have not.
In the Middle East you believe or else, no not all Muslim but you better believe in something.
In America there is ridicule if you don't believe and ridicule if you do believe.
In Ireland, until recently it was against the law to commit blasphemy, that's right couldn't insult
God at all. Sound like the Middle East to you?
Societies have Given God a lot of powers that Governments enjoy manipulating for their own ends.
So best not to blame God, blame the politicians and the ignorance of the average citizen who
blindly believes anything and everything they are told.

Religions are old stories that were cooked-up by small, geographically limited communities in ancient times, to attempt to explain a confusing existence.

Whatever sincerity they possessed has always been marred by cynical, power-hungry deviants and sadists. Religion poisons everything and it's time has past.

It is not a neutral thing, producing good or evil depending upon who is using it. It lends itself best to bad things and it is so easily deformed by frauds because of its inherent properties.

Back in the day people were desperate. The life span of a human was 30 years if all went well and they couldn't understand how things worked around them so they made up reasons for the bad things that happened to them or those close to them.

These idiotic stories are pointless diversions. They deform your lives. Abandon them.

I really enjoyed God id not Great by Hitchens. Nothing in the book really surprised me but everything I thought was put together in a fashion that would surely convince the most confused that they are being hosed..........

With its bounty of brawny, barrel-chested gods and buxom goddesses, the ancient Norse religion of the Scandinavian and Germanic countries is truly the creation myth for fans of both pro wrestling and heavy metal music.

According to Norse lore, before there was Earth (Midgard), there was Muspell, a fiery land guarded by the fire sword-wielding Surt; Ginnungagap, a great void, and Niflheim, a frozen ice-covered land.

When the cold of Niflheim touched the fires of Muspell, the giant Ymir and a behemothic cow, Auïhumla, emerged from the thaw.

Then, the cow licked the god Bor and his wife into being. The couple gave birth to Buri, who fathered three sons, Odin, Vili, and Vï¿. The sons rose up and killed Ymir and from his corpse created from his flesh, the Earth; the mountains from his bones, trees with his hair and rivers, and the seas and lakes with his blood.

Within Ymir's hollowed-out skull, the gods created the starry heavens.

Yes and you would think that the religious as opposed to the spiritual would take the lesson where God has gotten out of our way so that we can improve our morals.
