China reaps oil profits and leaves Canada with mess

By Larry McGillivray, The Province August 3, 2012 3:04 AM

China taking over Canada? While the premiers of Alberta and B.C. are fighting about a tiny fraction of the oil revenues that are being produced by the oilsands, the foreign "owners" of the big profits are laughing all the way to the bank.

They are laughing at how stupid Canadians really are.

The Chinese are getting control of Canada's oil, and our governments are welcoming them with open arms, because they "create jobs."

Canadians are getting fleeced on every level, while the feds and provinces argue over a tiny fraction of the revenue.

The pipelines that are proposed for B.C. are for Chinese-owned companies to ship oil to China and make ridiculous profits, while B.C. gets an environmental catastrophe - which, of course, China couldn't care less about.

The great giveaway to China is well under way.

Those living North of the Fraser benefit most from the new bridge. It makes it easier to get to Washington to buy reasonably priced gas, eggs and milk.

I remember when China asked for a price reduction on the coal they were buying from the elk Valley, the mines said no and the Chinese just stopped sending boats and started buying Australian coal.Layoffs came shortly after.

BC is about to learn what happens when you **** somebody like China over.

They could shut down the B.C. coal industry in the blink of an eye.
Australia would love to take that market share and they could provide it easily, last I looked they were heavily subsidized by the Aussie govt.

I dont think B.C. could win a trade war with China.
They could stop sending cheaply made goods that everyone loves to buy at Walmart, hmmmmmm, that might be a good thing.

I know we'd never win on that front.
But, if they stopped sending the Wal-Mart crap we'd have a boon in manufacturing in North America and when everyone asked 'where did our jobs go?' they could say holy sh!t there they are. Everything would cost more but there would tons of jobs that payed a decent wage so we could afford the stuff. Oh well. The way things used to be will never be again.

I remember those days,my dad had a hardware store here in town and sold everything under the sun, back in those days a shovel would last you ten years, try and get that out of a chinese made shovel, maybe a few weeks if your lucky.
I could post more examples but you get the pic.
Now a days most stuff doesn't last very long.

Or call in loans and start to buy cheaper and easier to acess Siberian lumber and Nat Gas instead of what BC has to offer.
