How the hell did that happen without banning guns?

The point is they shouldn't be sold legally to anyone. Once you get rid of the marketplace entirely there will be fewer and fewer on the illegal market too.

That thinking is flawed. By the way I am not a gun owner or a card carrying member of any gun organization.

This guy had a major mental health issue, if you want to address the real problem that is what people should be tweeting about. If he hadn't shot all these people up he probably would have blown them up. I can make all sorts of explosive devices using legal chemicals. Maybe we should shut down the Internet or do away with diesel fuel or fertilizer or even household chemicals.

Maybe we need to look at this fellow's history and see if he had previous issues, what about the state of his mental health, were their warning signs. Or we could take the ineffective easy route and call for a ban on weapons, as most politicians do when they don't want to do the real work..

Exactly. The hand-wringers and drama queens always jump the gun (did I say that out loud) on this nonsense.

Imagine if he went the suicide light plane route or perhaps an IED bomb or four? He's a loon.

Yeah so you think. My guess is that the psycho criminal would have bought them illegally. Just like the guys in TO who are gunning each other down and innocent bystanders.

Forcing the crazies to find illegal sources to buy assault rifles and Glocks would have made it a lot less convenient,
if not impossible for most people who would commit wholesale massacre. The dedicated murderer would probably
find a way but shouldn't we make it as difficult as possible? Some sort of reporting system that would let us know who
is looking for illegal weapons would help.

Maybe you can.

Anyway, guns shouldn't be available to the public to bring home.

If you want to go shoot some animals, there should be a special park for it and you give your gun back to the park after your done.

:)

Man you really are a city-boy.

Oh, and not very sensible.

So, we should store all our guns in various isolated game parks all over the country.......so the thieves don't have to travel around so much looking for them. Now THERE'S a "Hug-a-Thug" program! lol

I don't go out and pay $1000 for a good pistol to leave it somewhere else.......

Nor will Canadians tolerate any such laws or restrictions. Did you learn nothing from the long gun registry fiasco???

The difference there valid uses for chemicals. There aren't any for assault weapons except to kill.

I'm not a advocate for assault weapons either. I just see the argument as an easy out when trying to avoid the real issues in situations like this.

It's also the red herring thrown into every anti-gun debate....
Also since cars cause more deaths than guns...throw in the statement that it's not a valid argument because the original use of guns was to kill something eg. Game animals or enemies shooting at you....while the original use of cars was for transportation.....

So, it would mean that it doesn't matter if any inanimate object kills..... as long as it's original purpose was for something else...

It's the only way out. Getting back to the mixing of chemicals why don't we start a business and sell it all ore-mixed for major explosiveness but if someone uses it for that reason we'll use the old argument, people kill - our premix doesn't.
