How the hell do you fail when you have a product and marketing scheme that hoses people with a 500% mark-up?
The answer:
No one buys the crap. Makes you wonder where all the greenies are in supporting this planet-saving technology

The more I see popular trends arise and pockets being filled, the more I want to market frozen toast.Oh I'm sure the shareholders and CEO did alright.
Nothing says green more than a $10K set of panels that will take my clock radio off grid. The answer:

Frozen toast lasts much much longer than old fashioned regular toast and it reheats in just 2 minutes in your toaster.I was kinda hoping that the 5 figures that I paid for my panels would at least be capable of operating my toaster such that I could enjoy some delicious pre-packaged, frozen toast.
Hilarious. I guess this is where they complain about his teleprompter and his lack of speaking skills.Hmm, in 2010 they won a best practice award Frost & Sullivan Presents the 2010 Excellence in Best Practices Awards
The company had raised about $130 million in venture capital.
Oh, and Locutus, the $15.6 million loan was actually given in 2007....that's a Bush Administration grant.
As you were.
And that has what to do with them folding?Hmm, in 2010 they won a best practice award Frost & Sullivan Presents the 2010 Excellence in Best Practices Awards
Ya. So?The company had raised about $130 million in venture capital.
Loc already took care of that.Oh, and Locutus, the $15.6 million loan was actually given in 2007....that's a Bush Administration grant.

Did he? He made this about Obama. Well the grant came from Bush, and the tax credits issued under Obama's DOE were never used by this company.Loc already took care of that.
I'd think nothing of all this, if this was one company. If someone had a crystal ball and could see into the future with certainty, well that would be great. But nobody does. At the time, this company was doing very well, and was attracting significant investments from the market. Market conditions change. $hitty for the investors, but that's the risk of investing in a leading edge tech company. $hitty for tax payers too, but there's always going to be risk of failure, and there are benefits to government giving incentives for investment. Jobs for one. It wasn't the fact that the government invested money that caused this to happen.
Was it the best use of funds? When the programs have run their course, I'd like to see the costs versus benefits. There's a far bigger picture than just the failures. But I guess that's not the political fashion...
I concede.Did he? He made this about Obama. Well the grant came from Bush, and the tax credits issued under Obama's DOE were never used by this company.

All the more reason for an audit of the programs. I don't know how many companies are involved in the various programs, but I think it's a safe bet that there are more we haven't heard of than those that we have.I'd think nothing of all this, if this was one company.
But this has become a trend.
I smell something.
No doubt. All the more reason for an audit of the programs. I don't know how many companies are involved in the various programs, but I think it's a safe bet that there are more we haven't heard of than those that we have.
No doubt.
The federal government provided substantially larger subsidies to fossil fuels than to renewables. Subsidies to fossil fuels—a mature, developed industry that has enjoyed government support for many years—totaled approximately $72 billion over the study period, representing a direct cost to taxpayers.

Estimating U.S. Government Subsidies to Energy Sources
Enough said for those who claim renewables are overfunded, the real objection they have to funding green energy is it takes away from the billions already going into subsidizing a mature technology that supposedly can stand on its own.
What a scam.

You know sometimes it's okay to criticize something you support as a whole..
Yeah that's it exactly. Cause we all want to pay more for fuel as the supply dwindles. How about we stop throwing money at initiatives that don't work and put it into ones that do. Maybe get rid of all those useless wind generators that cost so much and consider thermal.

If we mounted the wind generators in the parliament buildings they would work like a charm.
Isn't hot air generally stagnant though?![]()
