Fernando Pisani's plan for a 4,500-square-foot backyard hockey rink gets icy reception from neighbours | News | National Post

Surprised that "problem" would make National news! Some people just don't appreciate when they have it good. To play hockey you need a surface 200' X 80'. Could be a lot worse, in this day and age it's far more likely your next door neighbour is selling drugs or breaking into vehicles. As they are putting a fence around it I REALLY can't see a problem. I wonder if she'd trade her problem for three or four of mine!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:lol:

Sheesh, I guess she'll have to draw the curtains!

I don't know if curtains are going to help much. With only four foot boards somebody is
probably going to put a puck through a window. If I was a neighbor I would worry about
what that eyesore might do to property values.

Did I miss something? I took it to be in the back yard!

It is not in the back yard. It is the back yard. A 4500 sq. ft. rink with flood lights and noise.

Especially for the guys breaking in through the basement window. :)

Ha! Did you see that house? They'd have that security wired six ways from Sunday bringing a full swat team down on their asses before they even squeezed said ass through the little basement window. LOL.

Betcha'. ;)

If he wanted to put in paved patios all throughout his backyard, they'd have no right to argue.

If he wanted to put in a seasonal rink that melts away in the summer, they'd have no right to argue.

So, I see no reason they'd have a leg to stand on when all he did is combine the two rights.

Who might be playing in a backyard, how loud they might be, is no leg to stand on either.

Good luck, damn St.Alby snobs. (sorry for those of you who do live out there, but you know what I mean)
