Has the Bamster made it less so?

Considering the incredible obstructionism offered by the Republicans and some Democrats to almost everything Obama has attempted I expect he would have one hell of a time changing anything. I can just imagine the fun FOX News would have if Obama attempted to dismantle the Bush-installed "security" system.

What a pile of crap: the Bamster had Carte Blanche for 2 years. Face it; he's just not a leader. Reagan was able to get lots of major legisation passed with a Dem congress. The Bamster just doesn't know what the word persuasion means.

Walter s right. Obama had two years to do whatever he wished but he squandered that opportunity. The GOP were pretty much flushed from both houses of Congress and the ones that remained could not have stopped a thing that Obama and the Democrats wanted to do.

Yes I keep hearing about all these jobs that were added... yet the unemployment rate has stayed the same for the past six months.

Actually, bush didn't have a brain, couldn't talk, couldn't think, etc etc...

- Right you are. Bush didn't have a brain. After all, he only had higher SATs, GPA and IQ than Kerry and earned Princeton and Harvard degrees and was baseball executive of the year when he rescued the Texas Rangers as its managing partner and defeated a popular incumbent to be come governor of the third largest state and then won re-election with the largest vote percentage in Texas history and defeated a sitting two term VP in a time of OSTENSIBLE peace and prosperity and then won re-election with a larger vote percentage and total while fighting a two front war.

Clearly, Bush was not a person of real accomplishment like some left-lib type laying bare his ignorance and arrogance on a discussion board.

Nor did Bush have the business and executive and political experience and accomplishments of Obama when Barack took office which were, err, almost nil and insufficient to be on the short list to head up a small business.

However, when one sees the preferential treatment meted out to Obama by the US MSM it is enough to make one lose one's lunch and makes the title of this thread - quit picking on Obama - ridiculous,

As to the bizarre love affair of Canadians for Obama, it is incomprehensible and embarrassing to me as a Canadian given both Obama's dreadful record in leading the US economy to recovery which also negatively affects our economy and given management-trainee-in-chief Obama's dismissive attitude toward Canada in everything from the deferred pipeline to the protectionist stimulus and trade stances to the new border charges on Canadians to pretty much everything else of a blilateral nature.

You knew this was coming. It's like a snowball rolling downhill: it keeps getting bigger and bigger. The Bamster is toast.
Pastor: Black Christians should 'withhold support' for Obama over gay marriage | The Daily Caller

Right, that's going to happen. Do you remember the O.J. trial? African-Americans will never turn their back on someone they see as one of them, even if they disagree with a few of his policies. Much more likely is that fundamentalist Christians who usually vote Republican will withhold their votes from Romney due to his Mormonism.

Old And Busted: Obama Admin Says It’s “Inappropriate” For President To Campaign With Presidential Seal — New And Hot: Yeah, We’re Cool With It…

(CBS News) The seal is back.

For the first time at one of President Obama's re-election campaign events, his lectern displayed the presidential seal.

It had been the policy of the Obama White House that the presidential seal would not be displayed at purely political and campaign events.

The policy ended today at Mr. Obama's campaign speech on the campus of Carnegie-Mellon University in Pittsburgh, where the presidential seal adorned his lectern.

Poll: 69% Want Obama to Come Clean on ‘Fast & Furious’

Wow. Among adults, not registered voters or likely voters, 53 percent approve of the U.S. House of Representatives holding “Attorney General Eric Holder in contempt of Congress for refusing to turn over documents related to a program called Operation Fast and Furious.” Only 33 percent disapprove.

The CNN survey also found that only 34 percent thought House Republicans had “real ethical concerns,” while 61 percent thought House Republicans did it to “gain political advantage.”

(What political advantage is that? Just how different is the level of “advantage” the House GOP has today compared to two weeks ago?)

Naturally, the CNN.com headline is, “CNN Poll: Was politics behind Holder contempt vote?

The pollsters also asked, “In the congressional investigation of Operation Fast and Furious, in your view, should President Obama and his aides continue to invoke executive privilege to protect the White House decision making process, or should they drop the claim of executive privilege and answer all questions being investigated?June 28-July 12012

Only 28 percent said “invoke executive privilege,” and 69 percent said “answer all questions.”

Tavis Smiley: Obama Won't Meet With Negroes Who Disagree With Him

Tavis Smiley: Obama Won't Meet With Negroes Who Disagree With Him

Coalition of African American Pastors demanded on Monday that President Obama meet with the group to address his stance on same-sex marriage. So far, the White House has refused to acknowledge the group’s request but leaders say they plan to “turn up the heat” by asking black Christians to sit on the sidelines for the time being.

“We have requested a meeting with President Obama and until he meets with us, we are going to ask black Christians to withhold their support until he personally hears our concerns,” the group’s spokesperson, the Rev. Bill Owens, told The Christian Post on Tuesday after Monday’s press conference in Nashville.

“More than anything, this is an issue of biblical principles and President Obama is carrying our nation down a dangerous road. Many African Americans were once proud of our president but now many are ashamed of his actions.”

Owens said the group hasn’t received a response from the White House and they are growing frustrated with each passing day.
“We can’t compete with the Hollywood folks who are raising the big bucks for the president,” Owens said. “But it was black folks who rallied around him in 2008 and for him to ignore our request with a group of clergy who represents tens of thousands of black Christians of many denominations is an insult.”. . .

The press conference took place just miles from the convention site of the African Methodist Episcopal Church General Conference in Nashville where First Lady Michelle Obama told the group last week that their participation in this year’s election was critical for an Obama second term.

“So I want you to talk to your friends and your family, your neighbors,” the First Lady told the conference attendees. “Talk to them. Talk to folks in the beauty salons, the barber shops, the parking lot at church. Tell them what’s happening on the city council and out in Washington. Let them know. Find that nephew who has never voted — get him registered.”

And Owens agrees. But until President Obama agrees to meet with the pastors to hear their concerns, he is asking them to withhold their support.

And welcome to the forum Teddy!

- Eagle ... Thank you much. I had to respond to the attack on Bush because it was such a slam dunk, Bush having actually been well qualified for the presidency while BO was the most unqualified major party candidate in modern times. Indeed, Obama was such a farcical novelty candidate and his presidential record is so laughably inept that even a few members of the MSM left-lib loyalists are starting to offer up mild criticisms of the president. But this picking on Obama theme is hilarious inasmuch as Dear Leader had enjoyed a three and a half year honeymoon period in the MSM. I`m only surprised that MSNBC and other liberal channels haven`t yet claimed that Duffer-In-Chief Obama has scored 12 holes-in-one in a single round of golf, thereby beating the late Kim Jong-Il who the North Korean press claimed had 11 aces in his first round ever on the links.

"We have met the enemy and he is us."
- Walt Kelly

The news if filled with the anger and frustration of the voting public. Are you angry and frustrated with your government? Well, you don’t have anyone to blame but yourself. Contrary to Ronald Reagan’s mantra that "government is the problem," the real problem is us. The intractability of Congress and the lack of political will is symptomatic of a more serious malady afflicting the people for which we have failed to take responsibility. For those that live in a democracy, they should look first to themselves as responsible for their institutions of government. Ours is a constitutional republic - a representative form of government - and if you will not stand for elected office and serve, then give your support to one who will serve the public interest. The least one can do is cast an informed vote: for what value is the franchise but its exercise? Indeed, it is a fundamental failure of democratic principle when elections are determined by apathy and ignorance. Our elected representatives and officials are a reflection of our society; and, ultimately, ourselves. It is fitting that, in a democracy, the people should have the government they deserve.
