I can think of a great many less-than-desirable traits in Harper's style of governance - including more than a few terminological inexactitudes (how's that for a Churchill/Trudeauism) The point is, the difference between a good prime minister and a bad prime minister is six years....

Over the last 40 years, they just seem to be getting worse as news media grows....

Where do you get your info from on this mysterious Brazilian lady? Show us your source, let us judge whether you have been misled by the governments and companies that are trying to make legal the un-regulated abuse of our resources.

Read and learn Grasshopper:.. BTW - there are no unregulated abuses of our resources, they are all regulated.

Northern Gateway pipeline hearings sabotaged by Chicago-style politics

What next? Dead people?

“Some ‘intervenors’ were signed up without their knowledge”:
What exactly does a woman from Santos, Brazil, know or care about the Northern Gateway proposed pipeline project? It turns out, nothing at all.
In fact, even though Ines Gudic is listed to give an oral presentation to the panel reviewing the proposed Enbridge pipeline from Alberta to B.C., she says she knows nothing about it and never signed up to speak.
“I don’t know what you are talking about,” said the 53-year-old woman on Tuesday from her home.
“I have never heard of this pipeline and I did not apply to speak in Canada,” she said, in broken English.
That’s strange. On the federal government’s National Energy Board website, Gudic is one of a whopping 4,522 registrants who apparently applied online to make an oral application. Her name, mailing address, e-mail and phone number are included on the website.
Incidntally, forign eco-lobbies don't have rights as Canadians, which doesn't deter fromk the fact that they have rights as world citizens, and when Canadian actions affect them they have the right to participate in Canadian decision making processes.

Interesting, I too have rights as a world citizen and among those rights are to develop resources in accordance with the local laws of the nation/jurisdiction in which they are located.

Your rights don't trump anyone elses

Yes you did, you said that all Canadian resource industries should consult with me. If that isn't consultation for you then you must be some kind of alien, as opposed to just foreign, troublemaker. I don't need a job as an analyst, to be able to analyze. I don't need a job in inspection to be able to inspect. Unfortunately most of what passes for environmental assessment is pretty muchc constrained to simplistic and even jingoistic reports that any member ot the public can get some laughs out of.

Do you understand sarcasm at all?

... And yes, you can sit in on public hearings.

Get a grip

I didn't say that your childish comments on the leader of the Greens patrimony upset me, I said I was sorry that your mind works that way. You have my pity.

Your apology is accepted

Was that a qualification? The Brazilian woman has the right to speak. Foreign eco-lobbies have the right to speak. Is your attempt at belittlement the weapon of choice amongst the greedy-weedies?

Thankyou, I had no idea that anyone on here would have the ability to authorize my consultation by the various resource sectors. And yes, massive resource use issues should have consultations with me and any concernced and impacted persons or groups. And while the regulatory bodies have been around for decades the issues have been around a lot longer than that. The trouble now is that the lazy and greedy are trying to avoid regulation by reducing the ability of those regulatory bodies to study the issues.

As to your petty comment on the patrimony of the leader of the Greens, I'm sorry your mind works that way.

Why would any group have a separate country if foreigners have the right to determine their course? Do you qualify that weird thinking? How about China or Russia telling us how to manage our resources? Hmmm ... Nigeria?

There are consultations with you, it is called voting, you lost, try again.

Perhaps you missed the part where the majority government didn't get to pass it's bill because of the public backlash.

In which case, try reading betterer.
Why does the publics opinion only matter to you, when it's in your ideological favour?

It doesn't.
I'm going to call BS on that.

The people of Toronto don't want LRT's, they want subways.

Bad, they disagree with you, you know better.

The publics backlash over a perceived bad bill.

Good, they agree with you, all is well.

I was just curious anyways... Carry on.

If you can't see the obviously gaping hole in logic when you use the word "only", then I can't help you.

Now carry on little doggie.

Regardless the public is not very happy with Harper- will it carry forwards to the next election- Yes-

The part that the NDP has to prove is that they are not tax and spend- and have a platform.

We will see the repercussions of bad Harper polices play out from till the next election. Oct 2015 I believe-

The blue sweater and the arm chair won't cut it next time.

We'll see. I'm not hearing much grumbling on the ground here.

Right now, McSquinty is in the hot seat, in a fairly general sense.
