They go primarily because they believe they are skilled in that field.
What they believe, and what the reality is, is obvious.
They aren't qualified.
And the tragedy is that those who are especially qualified still don't get jobs because they are given to less qualified seniors.
LOL, it's long been shown that people over 40, have greater difficulty getting long term employment in career fields. In favour of young person, that will be in the position longer.
It's a common practice.
Yes really. Hence all the lame justification, and eyes to the gov't for a job, instead of just getting to work.
I may love to weld, but I'm certainly not doing the welding prefer to do. I'm well over qualified for the welding I'm doing today. But I do it because it pays the bills. While I rebuild a business that will get me back to welding what I want to weld, what I love to weld.
My advice for you entitle underemployed youngin's, go get your PSW. It's a booming market with starting wages around $20/hr.
After I pay taxes and cover consumables, you'll make more than me.
No amount of research into the market would've prepared anyone for 2008.
I disagree.

I should have listened to my mother though, and not borrowed so heavily to expand so fast. I would have weathered the storm had I listened.
And if you want to break it down to employment, anything to do with caring for boomers, is a money maker.
