I'm just glad the Rangers got KOed by the Devils. I felt like I didn't really have a horse in the race except for the teams I didn't want to see win it (again... maybe one of these days sanity and stability will return to my Isles and we can return to glory...). I hate the Rangers on general principal, but Sather's involvement takes it up a notch or 6, and Tortorella definitely doesn't make things any better.

As for this final, I am pulling for the Kings, even though most of my favorite teams are in the East; I don't really go in for that any more than I cheer for the "Canadian" teams (who have more Euros and Americans than Canadians, while their "American" opponents have all sorts of kids from across Canada). New Jersey has been there and done it before while the Kings haven't. I do wonder if this is Brodeur's last run: the batteries have to empty sooner or later and this is good run to end on, win or lose.

Looks like the Kings are going to take it, talloola..............don't know where the team went that beat the Rangers but so far they have barely showed up.............no PP what-so-ever.......even with a 2-man advantage........that about did it for me. Jersey might squeak out one more win but am not holding my breath now.

Will be quite the storyline when the Kings pull off this win................and have to say they truly will deserve to be the champs.

Ah well training camps are open for the CFL and soon the season will be underway for our football teams, talloola.

I'm waiting for the day when Nashville, Tennessee wins the Stanley Cup. That will be a hoot if they ever.

the kings aren't anything like the rangers, much deeper. And up until the third game, the devils could
have won, as both games went to overtime, and they had their chances, just didn't do it.
But game 3 was l.a.s game all the way.
johathan quick is amazing, and brodeur is good.

nashville are better now than they have ever been, and if they can manage to hang onto suter and weber,
and add a bit more depth for next year, they have a good chance, great goaltender.

I hope you have a prescription for hockey withdrawal pills, Talloola! LOL

yeah, i'm working on that. lol well, only about 3 weeks till the entry draft, so that is interesting
for me, I love to sit and watch all the young guys get picked and walk up and get their sweaters, they
are so excited and proud, with their parents and siblings sitting in the audience to cheer them on,

then on july 1 the players who are becoming unrestricted free agents can walk away from their teams
and take offers from other teams and decide whether they want to return to their respective teams or
sign with a new team.

then shortly after that the restricted free agents have to sign with their teams, or they can accept
an offer sheet from a different teams. (those are players who haven't had enough time in the NHL to
get to unrestricted free agency.

and while all of that is going on, teams can sign new players, make trades, or drop old players, etc.

that goes on all summer, then early in september the rookie camp starts, then the roofie tournament
in kelowna between western teams, then the full camp with all players.

so, not all that much time to be missing hockey, and I do have other thoughts in my life too, and
enjoy my summer.

I also have a new choc lab puppy coming on june 23, so I will be busy helping him grow up, enjoying
him, trips to the ocean and other places.

life is busy, life is good.

Well I'm 11 points up in my hockey pool, even though I have no LA Kings. Hopefully it ends next game before anything crazy happens.

well could be it tonight, a stanley cup champion, BUT not so 'quick', the l.a. kings will have to

be prepared tonight to feel a bit different before the game as any before.

That cup will be waiting, not far away, just out of their reach, but so close to being theirs.

The excitement, and the nervousness going into this game will be different, so they must keep

their emotions in check, and play their hearts out, and on the flip side new jersey really has

nothing left but to play their very best, and hope the kings stumble a bit, then they can take a

win home with them, and live to play another day.

Darryl Sutter has his work cut out for him tonight, and he's just the right guy for this stage,

tough, calm, experienced, aware and totally knows how a player feels in a game like this, so he

will have them ready. This is our team right now, this is the 'west' playing for all
the marbles.

GO L.A. GO
