And I guess you figured even if Calgary was to win all those games, Vancouver would just be sitting around with their finger where the sun don't shine.

Nobody said Calgary was going to win the division. It was a mathematical possibility until today and as long as it is mathematically possible, Vancouver hadn't clinched . A calculator would have told you that.

Technically you are right

I'm always right.

Doesn't matter anymore, let it go, we are all feeling good over here, come on in for tea and homemade
peanut butter cookies, and we'll all enjoy'our' canucks, OK?

maybe even a glass of wine, if you're good.

Yep, that was a great game (actually two games, one lasted 35 minutes and the other lasted a little over 25 minutes) I guess 2 goals in 95 seconds can do that!

If you're so smart in mathematics, what is the first derivative of x squared?

Come now JLM. You need to start off slow. I'll help you figure out the standings first then we can move on to geometry, trigonometry, algebra and calculus. We can even touch on the concept of dynamical systems if you like but let's get the tables figured out first. Do you have a basic calculator? I'm off to bed now but we can start bright and early tomorrow.

You might find out you are in trouble when you start to assume what someone else knows. I'm pretty rusty at a lot of that stuff now, so you might have ot give me a couple of minutes to catch up.

that video was unbelievable, i'm not great in math, but I look like einstein compared to her. how can
anyone be that stupid.

They say there are 7 different kinds of intelligence, maybe math wasn't one of her stronger ones. When I was in grade 10 there was a girl in the class (actually quite bright in stuff like English and History) but fricken dense at Math. I remember the teacher trying to demostrate to her that when two objects meet they meet at the same time. She just couldn't grasp that concept.

oh dear. Some things are just common sense, but I suppose there are those who think things are harder
than they actually are, their common sense goes down the drain as they rack their brain trying to figure
it out.

I was excellent in math till I got to grade eleven, then I hit a brick wall, then math scared me, didn't
want to deal with it, didn't want to try, didn't want to think about it, didn't have to any more, just
made sure I passed, just to move on.

Yeah, I generally found Math fairly easy, it's a common sense subject because "it's just the way it is", but I remember when we got to doing calculus, I had a hell of a time for weeks trying to make head or tails of it, and then one day out of the blue it all came to me. I'm afraid I've lost all that now. Trigonometry I used almost every day in my job. I used to use logarithms a lot too, but that went the way of the Dodo in the early 70s when pocket calculators became affordable. Anyway it's all good stuff! I got to thinking about the girl in the movie- maybe English was her problem- really "80 miles per hour isn't a difficult concept.":lol:

Just to introduce another topic, the Canucks looked great last night. nobody panicked when they were two goals down. They just kept chipping away and pretty soon the game was tied. The goal in overtime was just a matter of time as the Canucks out-muscled Av's defense and fed Higgins who was seemingly alone in the slot and he wired the winner past the Colorado. netminder. Good game to watch.

yes, I agree juan, once they got past that first period of such high energy for colorado and low energy
for canucks, it was canucks game to win, if they wanted it.

hope you come back and sing that little diddy after the stanley cup finals,

and hopefully you aren't saying good bye to the ' c a n u c k s.' lol
No, just clearing my voice as I prepare to jump on the bandwagon.
