days are going to start getting longer and spring right around the corner. early dark thing
is the big guage for me, love getting rid of the short hours of daylight, and noticing the
change.

of course we don't have what many call a real winter anyway, and I don't want one.

beautiful sunny day today, and yesterday was the same, only much warmer, there were many parked
at the ocean side, walking and just hanging out.

Mel Lastman called in the Army when TO was hit with a couple of inches. Are people in Ontario short in height or do they walk around on their knees???? :p

I'm just predicting this is gonna be a big storm and we'll have lots of fun on the driveway.

Yes, it was another 10 cm on top of the metre of so of snow which had already fallen in the prior weeks. If that amount had actually fallen (silly weatherman -- imagine them being wrong -- what are the odds?) the army would indeed have been needed. As fate had it, the snow didn't fall and the army was not needed and he became the butt of jokes from the rest of Canada for years to come.

I really do not see what help the Army would be - Blow up snow banks - The Army does not do a lot of snow clearing.
Now build or blow a bridge - Were in - Take a hill - we are on it - provide humanatarian aid - Clean water - Rations - we can fly there now that we hvae those Big Mother Planes.

But snow. Well it stopped the Germans.

My understanding is they do have snowclearing equipment as well as trucks, etc. I do believe he did ask if they could help before asking them for help.

Less then TO has by a long shot.

You mentioned a meter of snow over a few weeks or so. They should have hired and cleared it away.

I was in NB in 92 - Jan - 160 CM fell in the 1st 24 hrs - then 1 more cm fell. 161 CM - about 5 feet 3 inches.
