Yep indeed..(sarcasm alert)......and how those gangster ruskies rejoiced when Paul McCartney entertained them. Even Putin the nasty , attended and seemed to have a super good time.

.......and then there is Chicago. ( where they localize their gangsters......or did )

Which country has free elections? 1 more so than the other.

Criteria to be clarified by yourself as to how you arrived at this conclusion.

You might want to DEFINE just what "free elections" means. That term is used so liberally, it is running the risk of losing any meaning it might have had .

There are places on the planet that have true democratic style elections as part of their political system and don't make a big deal about it. But these places are further evolved on the election scale. and have a better understanding of what true democracy is.

How about you do that.

Goober: did a quick research and found this:

An election is a formal decision-making process by which a population chooses an individual to hold public office.[1] Elections have been the usual mechanism by which modern representative democracy operates since the 17th century.[1] Elections may fill offices in the legislature, sometimes in the executive and judiciary, and for regional and local government. This process is also used in many other private and business organisations, from clubs to voluntary associations and corporations.
The universal use of elections as a tool for selecting representatives in modern democracies is in contrast with the practice in the democratic archetype, ancient Athens. As the Elections were considered an oligarchic institution and most political offices were filled using sortition, also known as allotment, by which officeholders were chosen by lot.
Electoral reform describes the process of introducing fair electoral systems where they are not in place, or improving the fairness or effectiveness of existing systems. Psephology is the study of results and other statistics relating to elections (especially with a view to predicting future results).
To elect means "to choose or make a decision"[2] and so sometimes other forms of ballot such as referendums are referred to as elections, especially in the United States.

Now.......another search rendered this:

Free election (Polish: wolna elekcja) was the election of individual kings, rather than of dynasties, to the Polish throne between 1572 and 1791, when "free election" was abolished by the Constitution of May 3, 1791.

and the above is from Babylon translator.

First we need free and open democracy with representatives of local interest at heart and not National Socialist party motives.

And yet you have been unable to define what you think. Does the Net rule your mind?

An open and transparent democracy (TRUE) is a system where the free part is understood. It would be grand if humanitarian interests were the primary concern of the system , as then the focus would be on a gov't BY and FOR the people. Unfortunately......with any leadership comes a power that many do not handle maturely or wisely. When power becomes the objective under the guise of political promises , the system is usually wrank from the inside by then.

The system in Russia has been undergoing much change over the past 30 yrs (or so). With change come set backs, revisions, restarts , one step forward, two back ......at times. No major change is smooth & uneventful. A system is one thing.......the human factor is quite another.

And yet you have been unable to define what you think. Does the Net rule your mind?

I just did. once again your run off at the mouth without giving your words any THOUGHT ,making all kinds of silly assumptions that only reflect badly on you.

Money is and always will be far more powerful than politics.
