At the moment it looks like Romney is heads and shoulders ahead of the rest of the candidates, hope they
catch up somewhat.

romney has the gift of the gab, he loves himself, and he has the experience of the last campaign, BUT he has 'no heart' at all, it
is apparant to me, and others whom I have heard mention, that he has no human connection to the people, he
is a 'me me me' person, and will keep throwing his words out there hoping to fool the masses.

He wants to sit in that oval office for the staus it will give him, to look down on everyone else, and
spout, "see where I am", this office was made for me, I am the best, I love myself, "oops, I shouldn't
have said that aloud", "oh well, they are all so stupid they will never notice", "hope they delivered
all of my new suits", "I need a different one for every day of the year", I need a room for my hairdresser,
my clothes person", etc etc.

He not only has 'no heart' talloola - he has a very skewed moral compass as is ably demonstrated by his belief that waterboarding is not torture.

"Romney didn’t get a chance to weigh in on waterboarding, so we don’t know whether he actually favors its restored use, as Michele Bachmann and Herman Cain said they did, and as Rick Perry seemed to signal as well.

But we know Romney doesn’t consider it torture, because one of his senior aides, Eric Fehrnstrom, sent out a Twitter message after the debate saying flatly that it isn’t, and a campaign spokeswoman on Monday confirmed that that was indeed Romney’s own view. The spokeswoman added: “At the same time, he’s not going to specify the enhanced interrogation techniques he would use against terrorists.” "

I like Herman Cain at this stage, not sure about 999, but it is a step in the right direction. (change the way were taxed) Everybody else was same old same old.

I would have agreed with you on Herman Cain, ironsides, that is until he came out in support of waterboarding.

Newt Gingrich as the official republican backer would be very entertaining indeed.

Go Newt! Go Newt! Go Newt!

Herman Cain Is Reassessing His Bid for Republican Presidential Nomination, an Aide Says

Herman Cain told members of his campaign staff on Tuesday that he was reassessing whether to proceed with his bid for the Republican presidential nomination, an aide confirmed, a day after an Atlanta woman disclosed details of what she said was a 13-year affair with him.

In a morning conference call with his advisers, Mr. Cain said that he would make a decision in the coming days about whether to stay in the presidential race after his campaign was rocked by another round of allegations about his sexual conduct.

Gopher is her pet IMO. He's her lap dog and pets just want to be loved by their owners. IMO of course.

Look at that - I did not make any post here and these haters side track by using my name. And they claim it is everyone else who throws the first hate filled shot. But, at least this does prove beyond the shadow of a doubt as to who actually does so.

Anyways, it appears from the article linked that Romney says fellow Republicans, Tea Baggers, and other are calling for isolationism. I see no evidence of that. Perhaps someone can find some proof from political speeches or somewhere else.

The problem is the politicians might be calling for a century of dominance but the
people are asking for an era of living within their means so they can get their own
private wealth back. Mittt is not as bad as people make him out to be and Obama
has done a good job in view of the circumstance he was left with. I wish these
people would discuss issues for a day rather than all the crap they do talk about.
Cain is done, Newt will fall before this is over, or Obama will mop the floor with him
as he is not acceptable to the majority of Americans.
I think Obama is still the front runner when the dust clears though, much the same as
Roosevelt won amid the doubts and doom of the time.

No mention of recent isolationist talk that I could find.

This is some scary s hit.

Not really. I would prefer that America lead than anyone else. World cooperation is not a option at least not yet.

Right now the GOP is badly broken (just like the US government is) and they don't recognize it either. But then the folks in some Asylums think they are there to be protected from those outside the walls.

The biggest problem with the U.S. election is the number of people discussing it for the length of time they do. The election is early Nov. , we shouldn't hear a peep before Sept. 15. How much money is squandered on that charade by a country that is strapped?

Thank God.

The alternative hegemony in the last 65 years would have passed from the Soviet Union to China.

You should get down on your knees every night and thank God that the USA is the most powerful nation on earth, and that they inherited that position from Great Britain.

It has made us rich and free.

tell me how they are the most powerful country in the world, when china, financially owns
them.

I don't think anything would get me to vote for President Obama, he is a known quantity and I do not want 4 more years of his policies. Hope "The Godfather of Pizza" somehow finds his way back, if not anyone but Perry.

I imagine there are a few million Republicans who would agree with you. I would have to agree to the extent, that he doesn't appear to be too effective, eg. Guantanimo hasn't been shut down as promised. I not sure if it is realistic to mend the damage done by the sub prime mortgages or even if its his job to do so, but the recovery from that little fiasco seems to be slow. Perhaps people just expect too much from politicians and over rate their ability. On the other hand maybe too much ability is not a good thing.
