If Israel is has moved 500,000 of its citizens to settlements in the West Bank and is maintaining it in a regime that has different systems for both classes of residents — settlers and locals: transport, education, legal, judiciary, public services, human rights, civil rights, police, taxation, social security etc. — please detail how that is not apartheid?
It sure as hell looks like apartheid. You would need a microscope to tell them apart.
The West Bank is not, was not, and never has been part of Israel. Nor was it ever part of Jordan, although Jordan controled it before 1967. Before that it was part of the British mandate, and before that it was part of the Ottoman Empire.
It is no man's land, belonging to whomever occupies it. Right now the Israeli's control the part with settlements, the Palestinians control the rest. If the Palestinians want to gain actual title to the West Bank and Gaza, they need to negotiate a peace with Israel. Nothing else will do.
They were offered a nation back in the 90s by Ehud Barak. Arafat spat in his face, as nationhood would have exposed his own massive corruption, to the tune of three BILLION dollars stolen from aid money.....
The Palestinians are not the victims of the Israelis, but of their own Arab "brothers", over and over and over.
The longer they wait to negotiate, the more solid the Jewish settlements become. The Israelis forced all settlers out of Gaza (fat lot of good it did them!) and will do so to some degree in the West Bank, but the longer they are there, the more solid their possession of the land will be.
The Arabs need to SETTLE.
